is braxton garrett good? if you look at his minor league stats, he's always kind of been the same guy, he just had a shitty few years with TJ, then he returned really well, then had 2020 with the pandemic no minor league season. he was the 7th overall pick and his offspeed stuff has always been really good, but he might be making himself into a longterm option in the rotation and the bullpen. He certainly has the opportunity the rest of the year. he's thrived against bad lineups so we'll see if it keeps up, but he looks really good recently.

Braxton Garrett is an example of Mel Stottlemyre/our pitching development being way better than whatever is going on hitting wise.
Seriously, the first thing we should do that won’t make headlines and should be easy to do is fire Marcus Thames. The worst offensive seasons that the Yankees have had in my lifetime were with Thames as hitting coach. Not sure why he was hired in the first place (I mean, I do, and it’s because we get an orgasm every time we hear an ex Yankee is available).
