  • so rod allen is not holding back on the sarcasm on the pregame show about how shitty this lineup is.

    • not sure if its for us long term, but braxton garrett is a major league starter. back end starter, but he's missing enough bats finally that he can pitch every 5th day.

      • I really want to shatter this record. Up to 37 scoreless innings. I figure that if we go way past the record, somebody has to get fired, right?

          • Garrett Cooper had no business going to the All-Star Game to begin with, but he’s become a lot worse since they named him an All-Star, as well.

            • braxton garrett might be a pretty good mlb SP

              • Luzardo and Cabrera have pitched 7 innings between them at AA and AAA tonight and neither has given up a hit.

it may just never get together at the same time, but there is sandy and enough SP depth in this system to trade for lineup help and still be able to contend next year with a great rotation. they have numerous huge decisions to make next week and this offseason

                  • wendle and sanchez seem like 2 guys who have probably never had a conversation off the field

                    • is braxton garrett good? if you look at his minor league stats, he's always kind of been the same guy, he just had a shitty few years with TJ, then he returned really well, then had 2020 with the pandemic no minor league season. he was the 7th overall pick and his offspeed stuff has always been really good, but he might be making himself into a longterm option in the rotation and the bullpen. He certainly has the opportunity the rest of the year. he's thrived against bad lineups so we'll see if it keeps up, but he looks really good recently.

                      • Braxton Garrett is an example of Mel Stottlemyre/our pitching development being way better than whatever is going on hitting wise.

Seriously, the first thing we should do that won’t make headlines and should be easy to do is fire Marcus Thames. The worst offensive seasons that the Yankees have had in my lifetime were with Thames as hitting coach. Not sure why he was hired in the first place (I mean, I do, and it’s because we get an orgasm every time we hear an ex Yankee is available).

                        • garrett has thrown 68 pitches, 50 strikes tonight. this pirates lineup is really bad, but he looks really good. He needs to get an opportunity the rest of the year.

                          • jesus sanchez is going to end up being a good platoon righty corner outfielder and have a long career. a good team is going to find out how to utilize him.

Peyton Burdick has about a .900 OPS against lefties at AAA this year.
