2022 Game Thread

The entire point of stallings is his defense... But I heard on the broadcast that Fortes was the best defensive catcher in AA last year? The offense can't be argued, and my eye test/memory says Fortes is superior at throwing runners out this season. How can anybody justify Stallings starting games in any more than a Jeff Mathis backup capacity?

At this point, I don’t see how Jacob Stallings is anything more than Sandy’s personal catcher (because that’s working and starting catchers need a day off regardless). Fortes should probably play the other days like a regular starting catcher would. In terms of things he can do, he reminds me a bit of Realmuto. I think Realmuto had a better arm, but both guys are pretty athletic for the catcher position. I think Fortes is more than short-term interesting. And even if he’s not, he can’t be worse than Stallings anyway.

He’s basically the real life version of Roger Dorn. Which is amazing considering that Tanner Scott is Ricky Vaughn.

avisail garcia needs to be benched. we're 3.5 months in. it's getting worse. the at bats arent even promising. every time he's up in a big spot its terrible ab after terrible ab. even last nights single was a little blooper that wasn't impressive.

Most of our games are painful and/or torture to watch. Everyone knows that. I thought the sarcasm was clear.

But boring is different than painful/torture.

that blue jays trade was a complete disaster for both them and us. each team traded crap for crap. henderson alvarez was the best piece either team got and his arm fell off after a few years. loved him though, he was really good for a few years. marisnick has managed to stick around for 10 years despite not being able to hit his weight. good for him.

exactly. It's just stupidity. Compounding an error and just really proving to your fanbase that you fucked up. This team has consistently shown they don't understand the concept of sunk cost.
