schedule lightens up a little starting tonight. Need to start piling up some wins and beat the teams we should be beating. Also need to start seeing some improvement from Rojas, aguilar, Stallings, Soler, and Garcia. It's a miracle we are only a game under with how bad 5/9ths of our lineup has been and how bad the bullpen has been in crucial situations.Comment

Hopefully sandy can keep it up and give us the ace start we expect out of him. Donnie seems to love rewarding guys for shitty performance. Why is aguilar getting moved up in the lineup with how completely horrendous he has been so far this year. He looks like he lost a step. At some point if they believe in lewin at all they need to give him an extended run. He's not 22. Same thing with burdick but I can at least understand the waiting game on him with the big free agent money put into garcia and soler and how limited the sample size has been so far. To me waiting for the super 2 deadline for him is acceptable.
And I love Rojas as a teammate, but I wouldn't mind wendle at SS full time with rojas going back to the super utility role and Anderson playing every day.Last edited by fish16; 04-26-2022, 07:22 PM.Comment

Wendle! great deal for him. playing like the all star he was in the first half last year. start him everyday at SS. Rojas has been really solid for a few years, but its really fun to watch how much an improvement from average to above average at a few spots in the lineup can do to improve a lineup when you have the rotation we have. is your feed of the game working? Heat are obviously on the old sun sports, panthers on the old FSflorida, and then my bally sports feed for the marlins isn't working now. nevermind, I found the weird channel they are airing this game on. not sure how its 2022 and the alternative feed when all 3 are playing is in standard definition. its remarkable how much velocity our rotation has and how easy it looks for them to be pumping 99 consistently. didn't see the last inning Nick is referring to but sandy's delivery is just so simple and fluid. The type of workhorse he has become is so fucking rare its such a pleasure to watch nowadays. To get a guy who not only has absurd stuff but also can go deep into games is such a weapon and its so refreshing to watch with how many guys in this league with great stuff cant get the pitch efficiency mastered to go deep into games. Credit to the front office because sandy was a distant 3rd for me at the time when we got him instead of Weaver/Flaherty for ozuna.

speaking of sierra, he's gotta be playing in a place with no gravity or he did roids for the angels because I just checked and he somehow has 3 homers in his first 49 ab's for their AAA affiliate in salt lake.
as a check in on old guys, Misner (wendle deal) is also having a pretty decent start to the year. Bad average but over .800 OPS, 2 homers, 2 doubles for the rays AA with 13 (!!) walks and 18k's in 37 ab's. That's such a ray move.
Conner scott still crushing for the pirates. still hitting .400, 1.089 OPS, 5 XBH's in 40 ab's, and a really nice 8/6 K'bb ratio. That's the one guy id have love to have kept. he's gonna be a player. Also I love Stalling's defense, but at what point does that offense become a liability enough to offset the defense. Especially with the robo umps god willing coming soon. I get the appeal, but there is nothing I can stand watching less than a defense first catcher with absolutely no bat like him and Jeff Mathis. I hope the robo umps do actually come so teams start to value defensive catchers like him less. I wonder if they go after him if they didn't know the DH was on its way.
Antonio veleZ (lees favorite in the scott and sulser trade) has been lit up the past 2 starts at AA for the orioles and his numbers are now awful. Kevin Guerrero (probably the reason the O's make that trade) hasn't played yet because he's too young and the short season ball hasn't started yet.
kyle nicolas (stallings trade) has also been terrible in a few starts. that's why you develop depth. Get major league pieces and build depth to trade for those pieces without having to deal the major prospects. this is the part the loria regime never understood. not sure if the pirates wanted him or if it was a choice between him and mccambley, both have been terrible.
Zach thompson also been horrific for the pirates.
Louis head also been good for us. Player to be named later we traded for him has been weirdly nonexistent for the rays.
Lewis brinson been terrible for the astros AAA affiliate.
Monte also in the same outfield as sierra and also bad.
Dont love the garcia signing and am ok with the Soler signing, but this new regime has been pretty solid in these minor types of deals. Much better than Loria's tenure where we always gave up talent in stupid deals, both major and minor.Comment
