I love that our foundation to next year keeps hitting and it's so much fun. Bryan De La Cruz, Jesus Sanchez, Lewin Diaz and Jazz. I don't care about the rest.

jesus sanchez is an absolute stud. Jazz in his first full year showed enough tools to trust him as at least a quality starter moving forward. Lewin Diaz hasn't gotten enough plate appearances but he looks really good with the glove and like he has enough power to start everyday towards the bottom of the lineup next year. They need 2 big additions, 1 in free agency and 1 in a trade, and I think they are a dark horse contender next year.

To me you need to bring in five guys (burgers and fries) who will be on the opening day roster next year.
Long-Term Catcher
Long-Term Center Fielder
Short-Term Masher who can play corner OF.
Closer
Lefty jack of all trades arm for the pen.
Finding a long-term catcher and CF in one offseason won't be easy, but I think we have the assets and money to pull it off. Successfully fill those 5 spots with quality and we've got a good squad next year and going forward.

They are derived at by a formula described on that website ... which you can check out. They take the cost of the players' contracts into consideration, years of control, and of course performance. Obviously, subjectivity comes into play and some of the valuations seem miles off, but it's at least interesting.
Here's a recent article on the validity of the valuations based on the recent trade deadline deals: [URL="https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/five-observations-on-the-2021-deadline/"]Five Observations on the 2021 DeadlineLast edited by Lee Stone; 09-21-2021, 02:20 PM.

fortes' rise reminds me of JT just in terms of coming out of nowhere. i have no hope for him to become anything but the out of nowhere trajectory gives some hope. jt was much younger though and he got brought up too early after they were just done with saltalamachhia like 2 weeks into a year.
