It's just frustrating to watch a team go through now the 4th year of offensive BS. You're wasting good pitching and in the end, these guys are going to be demanding trades, because of it. Their career numbers are suffering, and that means less money they can earn when they finally get traded to a team that will pay them & they're due a 2nd contract.
    Corey Dickerson’s batting average isn’t a problem.

“Matt Duvall” (not his name) is the same player he’s always been. He’s a streaky hitter with surprisingly really good defense.

The main problem with the offense is that Brian Anderson isn’t hitting, and the best offensive prospect (Jazz) + best offensive acquisition that you failed to mention (Marte) are injured.

    • madawgs outlook is consistently based on the last 3 games, has no idea about any kind of specific detailed knowledge of the farm system, and has a consistent cynical approach that consistently leads to wondering if the worst case scenario is right around the corner (see will the marlins be forced to move if the rays move, and will the marlins even get a TV deal at all). There are no rational, informed, nuanced conversations to be had with him.

Marte, not even played enough for me to remember he was on the team. Spent $12 million on him this year and gotten ZILCHO. $12 million you could have spent on two bats.

And Bass...the man with 5 blown saves, Way to go Ng....

No it's actually based on mostly shitty baseball for 29 years...winning seasons 7 of 28 (29 this year but it;s not done yet. Find me another franchise that's been that bad

that's exactly the point. what they did the first 25+ years of this franchise, which is clearly clouding every thought you have about this franchise, is irrelevant to the current state and future of this franchise. as I've said for years now, your shitty experience clouds every thought you have and makes it impossible to have an informed, rational discussion about the current team and ownership's future

So you’re saying the Marte move was bad too? Lol

“$12 million you could have spent on two bats”...which 2 bats? For that amount of money, you can probably afford 2 “Matt Duvall’s.”

Marte is our best overall position player, and was doing great prior to the injury.

As for Bass, yeah not great so far. Ng also rebuilt the whole bullpen and the rest of it has been just fine so far.

Ng’s been fine, if anything we have to see how she does when she can spend some money, which I’m guessing they’ll start spending some more of in the coming years.

                • “Matt Duvall” just crushed one to give us our first lead of the series.

                      • It feels fortunate we escaped LA with one win.

absolutely. that team is very clearly in a different class than us. 1 win is all I could have asked for coming into the series.

                          • I really think Jesus Sanchez should get the call tomorrow. See what he can do at least until Marte comes back. You can play either Sanchez or Duvall in CF.

Gotta love the guy that forgets literally one of the main cogs of the offense, who was batting .321 with 2 HR and 8 RBI in 15 games before he got hurt.

Maybe you were thinking of Matt Marte....

                              • These Nike City Connect jerseys are so sweet looking. Especially when you see Jazz wearing it with the coordinating pants, hat and socks.
