it would be one thing if he showed any hint of improvement at any facet of the game but its like he's gotten progressively worse since he got here. especially defensively.

The defense is the most shocking thing. You figured that even if his first season was a mirage with the babip, he at least has a floor defensively but he's either lost all confidence or just doesn't care, either way it's hard to imagine a turnaround.

exactly, and obviously this isn't his fault but the lack of DH makes his awfulness even more of an issue. If we had another hitter to supplement him being the worst hitter in the lineup it would be one thing, but the combo of him and the pitcher is honestly offensive.

The offense is fun aside from Berti and Alfaro. I'm sure this isn't a controversial take but if Jazz is gonns become who we want him to, he's got to be starting against lefties. If we have to platoon him long term that's a disappointment.

christ alfaro. this is starting to feel like that guy from the twins like 10-15 years ago. I think it was Matt Lucroy.

And speaking of Lucroy, Johnathan lucroy was DFA'd by Washington. He hasn't been good in several years but he cant possibly be worse than Alfaro

yelich trade is awful but the front office kind of crushed the other trades that offseason. Cooper and Caleb smith for Michael king and then getting 2 good years from smith and then flipping him for marte. Then sandy, gallen, castano, and sierra for an expiring ozuna and then flipping gallen for Jazz. Stanton trade you cant really judge on the -players we got back as that was a pure salary dump.

so when jazz starts mattingly brings in berti late but when berti starts just because of a lefty starter we cant see jazz the rest of the game now that there is a righty reliever in?
