yelich trade is awful but the front office kind of crushed the other trades that offseason. Cooper and Caleb smith for Michael king and then getting 2 good years from smith and then flipping him for marte. Then sandy, gallen, castano, and sierra for an expiring ozuna and then flipping gallen for Jazz. Stanton trade you cant really judge on the -players we got back as that was a pure salary dump.

I know it was a salary dump and the no-trade clause was a factor, but the fact that we’re calling the trade of the reigning NL MVP a salary dump is still ridiculous.

i get your point but this market cant both afford a player that expensive AND compete. it was realistically an either/or scenario and with his injury history that was a huge win for the franchise. if they kept him 2 more years and then tried to deal him we would have been completely fucked long term. if he was durable that would be one thing but the guy was consistently missing a month or 2 every year and since he's been in new york it's gotten even worse the last two years. Those last years on that contract are going to be pujols like.

he's just so bad. what is his whiff rate this year? Every AB is either taking 2 strikes all the way and flailing at strike 3 or flailing away at strikes 1 and 2 and then watching strike 3 down the middle.

i think it's to save pitchers, not the bench. hate it regardless with 2 guys in scoring position but I think that's the rationale. better hope these two runs don't come back to haunt us.
