The Marlins should be protesting the result, as the rules clearly state that 1) if a batter is hit by a strike, it's a strike, not HBP, (and the ump called it strike 3 THEN said HBP), and 2) replay of the game can happen if it's deemed the call affected the protesting team's chance to win the game.....and I'd say ending the game in a loss on a blow strike 3 HBP call constitutes affecting the chance to win the game.
And we may end up losing the game regardless on the next batter, but to lose in that fashion is absurd.
Not only that, they got together and talked about it AND reviewed it and still didn't get it right - as the Mets broadcasters said, what's the point of replay if you don't get it right? The guy leaned into the pitch too.
