pablo has looked great so far but his trouble has been avoiding big innings around this point in the game so lets see what happens these next few innings

I agree 100%. Start a 60 game season 3-1 and then trot out a bunch of turds when you have quality down on the farm? That would be a classic Marlins move.

They changed the roster starting Thursday
Right now its 30 and 3 taxi on Thursday it goes to 28 and 5 taxi for rest of them year
Taxi guys can ONLY play in Road games and have to be on the 40 man roster to play

They are looking for SP and are trying to get something done with Chacin/Jurado/Erlin but the other teams have 7 days if more than 1 team but in a claim. Claim or trade for 1 of them and DFA a LH Smith or Moran
Likely we see ELieser and Castano(since only 7 innings) and Yamamoto tommorrow then hope they get another SP arm or use Mejia. The thing with Sixto is 2-he is not in SP shape and they dont want to run him out there for just 3 games
They have enough SP
Pablo/ELieser/Yamamoto/Mejia
SP who could go 4 innings easy in a 7 inning DH
Castano/Josh A Smith/Sharp/GuzmanLast edited by tjfla; 08-05-2020, 07:58 AM.

Game notes:
Pablo looked good, esp. the new, improved change. Lost velocity quickly. Very slow to the plate from the stretch - opposing runners will have a field day stealing on him if he can't get moving.
Cervelli/Andujar. I didn't like either of these signings, but both look very confident at the plate. Great contact/discipline.
Key to victory for Marlins? ONE walk allowed. When is the last time Marlin pitchers walked a single batter over nine innings?
No way teams should get away with a defensive shift on Anderson. He's too good a hitter not to go to right field.
Monte. Wow. That was beyond brutal. Too many problems to list, but he could start by standing a foot closer to the plate. I looked for the record for consecutive strikeouts to start a Major League career, but couldn't find it. Hopefully, Monte won't set it. Berti is destined to play CF I guess.
Look for Yamamoto to shine vs. Orioles hitters ... my hunch.
