If they wanna do something like this in 2021

    1A Det
    1B Det
    2A Balt
    2B Balt
    3A Miami
    3B Miami

Ill take it because Top 6 prospects would be Kumar Rocker/Jack Leiter/Tork/Austin Martin/Emerson Hancock/Luke Leto!!!

For those who dont know Luke Leto he is a HS SS from Michigan

They need to have the draft(maybe lower it from 40 Rds to 25 Rds) and get these 2020 kids in the system

I think this is the timeframe as well. Not because this will continue peeking until then but because when this does eventually Go down they are going to have to be so careful with when and how they allow things to start getting back to normal. The only thing worse than this lack of sports is to get it back and then have to go back to this shit.

It’s why I see 0 chance of the nba and nhl seasons finishing. And that’s before even bringing into consideration how out of shape all of these athletes will be after a few months of this

This sucks though. Starting to really feel it now that we should be days away from opening day

          • They’ll be playing regular season games by July but giving out a WS trophy after 3 months of baseball seems weird.

I think they figure out a way to do 100 games minimum or just cancel the season. I’m all for a shortened season in general because 162 is too many to begin with but I can’t see any less than 100. On the bright side smaller sample can lead to some crazy results so a bad team that gets hot to start a year doesn’t have as much time to fall out of the race. Plus guys don’t have as much time for their stats to fall off. So pretty much what I’m saying is get ready for World Series champs marlins led by best player in baseball Lewis brinson

              • nhl and nba seasons will most definitely be played. There is money to be made after all.

I could see the MLB implement a shortened season, but extended playoffs, kinda like they did when there was a strike in the middle of the season back in the early 80s.

                  Agree 100%.

In fact, several weeks ago I wagered $1.00 on the Marlins To Win The World Series. The price I got was +100000 ($1 to win $1,000).

                  Today, the price is +70000.

Is there an extra 0 on today’s odds or did their odds get much worse? Either way I also thought about doing that for fun. I’d take a flier on marlins playoff odds.

On a side note How fucking long are teams gonna need to ramp back up again if this lasts a while as expected? These guys are likely not working out, how fat are some of these guys gonna be when they get back? Pablo Sandoval will have his own gravitational pull by the time this is done If his quarantine diet is anything like mine has been

I was watching random marlins highlights on YouTube the other night. Would anyone be down for a thread on random marlins players, moments, plays, etc? Cause Jose Cruz simultaneously dropping an easy fly ball AND knocking it into fair territory in the late innings of a playoff game was incredible. If the marlins ever get back to the playoffs I will be absolutely miserable to watch the games with and it’s quite possible I’d need a diaper. Same with dolphins too

Another more famous moment- mike bleeping mordecai. Still remember my dad and I just screaming mordy for an hour afterwards

                    • I somehow managed to end up watching that NLDS game from a skybox at Joe Robbie where Cruz dropped that ball. Maybe my favorite live sporting event ever. There have been a couple UCF Football games that have rivaled it in recent years.

I had one too many zeros on today’s odds. I edited it.

I was in the 2nd deck of seats down the 1b line (i think that was the 200 level). I have a photographic memory but its still crazy to me how many of those things are ingrained in my memory. I think i went to every single home playoff game that year. Still remember Alex Gonzalez HR sound after hitting off the thing in LF cause we couldnt see most of the outfield from the upper deck seats. I also remember that being just after midnight cause i didnt have to go to school the next day if that game went past midnight. I remember how awesome and pumped the crowd was heading to the parking lot after conine through snow out at home.

Looking back we had no business winning the world series but i guess every title takes a ton of luck. Just the Cruz drop, game 4 was ridiculous in the NLDS, managing to come back from 3-1 in the NLCS, Bartman, etc. Such a crazy and memorable run and i cant wait till we can experience a playoff team again.

i figured. that makes more sense. I wouldnt bet that still but i would consider a good value flier on the marlins to make the playoffs if we ever play. I can see a scenario where the vet additions, young guys taking a step, and small sample size paying dividends.

on a different betting note the 64.5 for our over/under win totals seemed like a very easy over to me.
