For the Avisail haters looks like we might have moved on. Hearing Dickerson,Shaw,Calhoun,Japanese Guy,Didi,Souza Jr more likely. Castellanos,Avisail,Puig in discussion but unlikely. They are looking at MIF too but prefer to add a bat with some power

They are keeping ALL options open and wanna add least 1 more bat just NOT long term. Just 1 or 2 years as they expect to have Lewin,Jazz,Monte,Jesus and possibly even Bleday ready

Miami is also looking at BIG trade targets like JD,Betts,Bryant,Lindor on the cheap. On cheap meaning they arent trading Top prospects but would be open to Devers,Jerar types

Miami has proposed a package Peralta/Yasmany Tomas/Comp A Pick(#34) but doesn't wanna trade the guys Arizona wants. They want a ML ready or close to ready SP(Cabrera,Neidert,Garrett,Rogers) and OF(probably Monte). NO exact names!!! While Miami countered with guys like Caleb Smith,Urena,Guzman,Jerar,Pompey,George Soriano

Remember Peralta is a FA after next year and is 32. Pick would be for taking Tomas and his 17 million for next year NOT to actually play him

Not sure what sense it would make to trade a prospect of any significance to get peralta. He’s not enough of an upgrade over the other free agents available, he is a free agent after next year, and we have outfield depth with prospects. I do like the idea of taking on 1 years worth of salary for a decent stop gap in Tomas if it can get us the number 34 pick. That’s a basketball/nfl type of move that makes sense in a rebuild. I’d rather spend money for that purpose than spend money long term on guys who aren’t worth it in positions like outfield that we have a ton of prospect depth in

If they are eating Tomas contract they better trade no one in top 40 prospects

Peralta is a dumb get for this team. There are really two options:

1 - Castellanos/Ozuna/Rendon - Longterm right handed bat, ignore roster balance this year for longterm

2 - 1 year CF lefty with some power, ideally a free agent or very very low end trade target

They should sign Shaw to a MiLB deal in either scenario

Ya giving up anything of significance for peralta is stupid. He’s a good player but he’s a free agent after next year and outfield prospect depth is probably our second best area of depth behind starting pitching. We have bleday, Scott, monte, Sanchez, misner, jerar, and then still have guys like brinson and sierra at the major league level still along with Brian Anderson as an established right fielder

I would do Peralta,Tomas and Comp A pick for Urena,Jerar and mid level arm by thats about it.

They wouldnt do guys like Neidert,Cabrera,Monte which is why nothing ever came of it

The thing with Tomas is they got the cash. IF they get him he wouldn't play but the Comp A #34 could turn into 2 or 3 prospects so u would be doing a trade like this

Miam-Peralta/Tomas and 2 or 3 prospects in draft

Again tho the Peralta/Arizona talk is far off. Expect a FA signing myself
