They are planning on adding Rivera/Turner then Richards. Have a few DFA claims out right now so they are holding off on adding guys right now to see if they get any of them

Main reason Richards,Peters,Jarlin and Lee are on roster is because minors don't start until April 5. They can pitch in majors now then when Elieser,Straily and Wittgren are ready by April 10 or so they will be sent down.

DFA guys will be Nola and Needy with us adding 3 guys. Then if other spots are needed Chen/Prado will be 60 Day. JT comes back they can DFA Wallach IF needed

I wouldn't bother holding on to E. Hernandez. There's lots of better guys in the system already.

Here's a debatable topic: Which son has the better year, Brinson or Anderson?

Rotoworld notes Marlins purchased the contract of Bryan Holaday from AAA. So we'll have three catches to start the season (Telis, Wallach, Holaday), unless one of them is moved for a DFA claim.

So we passed on Rupp but will have both Holaday and Wallach on the opening day roster? What in the world is going on?

Doubt Wallach is on team for long. Probably DFA him(will pass easy) and catch in Nola when they add Richards on Sun

Mattingly loves his backup to be all defense vet(Mathis/AJ Ellis)so Holaday makes sense

Alot of moving parts right now around the league which is why u haven't seen us announced Richards or anything

Id guess that Telis can technically be considered the backup 1b for a few days and Cooper becomes the de facto 4th OF. this is all just meaningless considering we're just trying to field a roster without having to fuck up the 40 man roster for a week until all these guys come back.

                  Wallach would be backup 1B.

Who knows right now-the injuries have screwed it up alot. 4 guys arent even really hurt-just not ready for start of season so they are trying to do things where they don't lose anyone with talent.

They prefer if Peters,Richards and Jarlin were in the minors but they can't open spots for anyone so they called them up

?? Yamamoto pitched in the same league as Hernandez last year (Carolina A+) with clearly better results. M. Gonzalez, P Lopez, B Meyer were all much better too. There's no judgement at all.

You lose Hernandez if he isn't up, and the rest can be stashed in the minors.

You keep Hernandez so you can keep him. He has clearly flashed some ability and is considered a top 20-25 prospect in the system (above Meyer also).

again, just comparing nothing but numbers without any qualitative analysis about other stuff other than pure results is why you consistently are misinformed about minor league players.

Yep. It is not that Elieser is better than Yamamoto or Merandy but he has to be in the majors all year. He might suck this year but in 2020 he will be 25 and ready for majors.

U keep him for the future. If he was in the minors he would be in Jax this year and a Top 25 Prospect

I marvel at the lack of respect afforded to the Marlin home-grown prospects - by writers, scouts, the Marlin organization, and many fans. Case in point: Luis Castillo. He's regarded as elite since his trade to CINN. His numbers at Jupiter in 2016 suggested greatness, but were obviously taken lightly by the front office. Well, be aware that Trevor Richards and Dillon Peters matched and exceeded Castillo's performance in the minors. They are the best pitching prospects in the organization. Ben Meyer shows equal potential

The probability of this post aging well is extremely low.

I'll take the field - Alcantara, Guzman, Rogers, Garret, Niedert, E. Cabrera, Gallen, M. Gonzalez, Yamamoto, E. Hernandez
