It's such a sorry roster that it will be lots of fun to cheer them on. With 75% ($75 M) going to injured/unneeded players this season, this outcome was predictable. Richards (hope he starts Saturday) may have some bumps, but he may be just fine. The ugliness is represented by O'Grady and Turner in the pen, where they are certain to be awful. I'm hoping that Peters throws strikes this afternoon. M.Gonzalez, A. Beltre, B. Meyer, Marcus Crescentini, Jordan Yamamoto (better track record than Elieser Hernandez) could all be early summer options.

Today's batting order (probable opening day list) is irrational. I'm guessing ownership is in shock to still have Castro's salary on board - could have just kept Gordon.

yup, need to just keep churning through guys. We should have one of those years where we hopefully lead the league in the amount of different guys who were on the 25 man roster at some point. And keep taking chances on guys who might have run out of chances elsewhere but still might have promise (ala Arrieta).

          2B-Castro
          SS-Rojas/Rivera(UT)
          3B-Anderson
          LF-DD
          CF-Brinson/Lee

          Rotation-Urena/Smith/Despagine/Peters/Richards
          Pen-Turner/Jarlin/O'Grady/Guerrero/Taz/Steck/Bearclaw/Ziegler

DL-JT,Straily,Chen(60 Day if needed)Prado,Elieser,Graves(Likely sent back but NO CLUE?)

          DFA-Needy,Nola Added-Turner,Richards,Rivera

If spots are needed Graves can be sent back to Oakland and Chen can be 60 Day(2 more)

          - - - - - - - - - -

They prefer to send Lee and Garcia down however at this point they are on the Opening Day because are on 40 man already. Looking for DFA/Waived guys before they make final decisions

            Rotation looks fun at least.

Anything on Rupp now that he cleared waivers and is a free agent?

Few teams with interest. Have heard Texas is leader.

We are looking for arms/younger guys with talent.

We can do both. Id give Rupp a 2 year deal and hope he takes it. We've got plenty of guys we can DFA. another catching option is pretty important given what we have outside of JT right now.

40 man moves we can make- Chen if he's out till may retroactive, Graves 60 day, Needy, hell i know we wont but I think we could DFA Tazawa and have him clear waivers although idk what his contract says as far as not being allowed to be sent down if we do DFA him, Wallach/Telis/Nola. Thats 5/6/7 guys.

I know we keep talking about it but holy shit ive never seen an opening day roster situation like this where we literally have like 5-6 guys who wont be on the opening day roster due to injury but will be back within a week or so. JT, Straily, Prado, Riddle, Hernandez, Wittgren. 6 different guys coming back soon, then you have chen in a month (but likely not). Because of this i think we might think very hard about putting guys on the roster to start the year who are already on the 40 man just so you dont have to make a lot of other moves and can just send guys down after a few days.

I think Lee will make it as one of those guys just because he's already on the 40 man. Sierra makes sense too but the beat writers said Lee was with the team which would foreshadow that he'll be on the team for a week just so we dont have to add Van Slyke yet. Tayron Guerrero might make it too and then be sent down for Wittgren in a couple days. Wallach for JT in a few days. Peters or maybe O'Grady for Straily. Idk who we would send down though for Riddle and Prado. We've got the most mediocre roster crunch in MLB history the next week.

Are we just going to have one massive game thread for the year?

We'll do game threads as they make sense. My guess is, series in April, then as interest wanes we'll have monthly ones.
