Don't the Marlins have one of the higher TV ratings in the league? Maybe our fans are just too lazy to go to games? Or cheap?

The Heat have been more consistently competitive, going back before Loria. They had Shaq, who was the biggest star in the sport at the time. They won a title more recently. It makes perfect sense for the Heat to have a bigger fanbase than the Marlins.
Is it just a "Miami has lots of hispanics" thing? Because it wouldn't be unreasonable for a basketball team to have a bigger fanbase than a baseball team in a given city; it is almost certainly true in Los Angeles, for one.poop

Hispanics in Los Angeles and Oakland are predominantly Mexican or Central American. Miami, and I don't need to explain this, is predominantly Hispanics from Caribbean countries like Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican that love the sport.....oh and Venezuelans.
