I haven't seen this either, and even if shut down a little a mid-April start still gets him 30 starts on the season more than likely. Doesn't seem like a big issue or we'd know.

I’m gonna double down on it right now….

Marlins radio broadcast just said the rotation will be

      Luzardo
      Eury
      Cabrera
and we’ll have several people fighting for final 2 spots

If Braxton was healthy he would be our #3 <———-that’s me saying that last line

      • • Dangle a one year deal to Chapman. Boras strategy is kind of backfiring here.
        • Try to get a 3 way swap that gets Rizzo from the Yankees and moves Bell. This allows the Yankees to move someone to 1B where they have a bit of a logjam and gets the Marlins a 1B beyond this season.
        • Edwards to 2B.
        • Arraez to DH.
        • Burger to LF.

i wasnt doubting they are saying that, all i was saying was i havent heard that anywhere which would be weird. on a side note, youre a sick man for listening to every spring training game on the radio.

I mean sure, make that happen (but Burger would DH and Edwards would be in a LF platoon with Gordon to quib). Not sure the Yankees go for anything like that though, nor could Bruce figure out that money for Chapman which would still be vast. But anything that makes Matt Chapman happen not on a ludicrous multi year deal would be great.

              • We are well into games in ST with opening day less than a month away.

The Yankees probably want to move Soto to 1B as quickly as possible. The rest of their OF, 1B, and DH is log jammed. Other option would be to try and just get Rizzo and leave Bell at DH. Rizzos option for 2025 isn't that big.

I think Boras tactis are on the way out.

                1. Arraez, 2B
                2. Anderson, SS
                3. Rizzo, 1B
                4. Chapman, 3B
                5. Chisholm, CF
                6. Burger, LF
                7. Bell, DH
                8. Sanchez, RF

They need their 4th and 5th SP four times first 16 games, then they would go again games 17/18. That's also specifically PIT, LAA, @STL,@Yankees, so those first two are great home game introductions. They can line up Garrett for April 10th in New York (the last of those 4 above), or April 17th home (the next 5th SP spot), and he'd effectively miss 1-2 starts as they could fold him in quickly from there. That's potentially 3+ weeks off and ramping up for 3 weeks. I'm not too worried here absent something larger going on. That's giving him a lot of time if he needs it and not impacting MLB innings capacity. Bring him on slowly is what I'm saying here. It doesn't practically matter much.

I only listen to the games that happen to be on while I’m driving. I drive a ton. Yes, I’d have to be totally sick in the head to listen to every game. Last night was a real barn burner. 0-0 final.

Shoulder soreness in March scares me.

long way to go, but it feels like weathers for cooper could be a much lower level version of the marte for luzardo trade. Rental piece for a struggling former top prospect that turns it around here. Weathers looked like shit last year but the stuff, the talent, and the pedigree is all there. I think he could be part of the rotation for a good long while.

Max meyer also looked great last night apparently as well. If it werent for innings limits, i'd really feel good about the team this year making a run back to the playoffs. Just feels like we will fizzle late in the year. Especially if garrett is hurt.

Say what you want about Ng's tenure here, she fucking nailed the trade deadline last year. If you call Eder-Weathers a wash (I actually think Weathers will be better) we essentially got Burger and Bell for Garrett Cooper, and Khalil Watson + managed to ditch Segura's contract.

her trades were always pretty solid. Whether it was the minor rays trades that we seeemed to do every year that got us chargois and edwards, or the major ones. her issue, and the issue of this entire ownership tenure, has been drafting and developing hitters. if they either developed hitters better or made better drafting decisions, this full tear down would have been majorly successful.

Her drafting and poor free agent signings were the death of her tenure here.

But ya, the deadline last year was huge.
