Marlins Trade Everyone to Toronto, Receive lifetime supply of Maple Syrup
I think we could potentially win more games next year by putting any group of players out there with Stanton it doesn't mean the organization has more baseball assets.

Samson if they lose more games next year: "We tried!"
Samson if they win more games next year "See, we HAD to make changes!"
One unnamed management person told the New York Post that Loria ate alone in the lunch room Wednesday, and didn't converse with other owners. He did dine with other owners at breakfast on Thursday. However, he requested and received an escort to accompany him to breakfast.
Reyes for Marisnick
JJ for Hechaverria,Nicolino,DeScalfani
Buehrle for Alvarez
Boner for Escobar
Buck and cash for Mathis
This is the reason why alot of people are saying we just gave Reyes away. Now I doubt Toronto will give equal value but I could see them include another prospect or 2 in the Reyes column
Horrendous - BJ and Bourn are getting $70 million for 5 this offseason, Reyes is getting $96. You can argue everyone is getting overpaid, but this is current free agency. I have said this before, this is barely a salary dump if at all. Which means, you don't eat not getting 2-3 other solid pieces because of salary in this situation. Marisnick, cool I can live with that as a centerpiece even if it isn't the catcher. They needed in addition what is listed on JJ tacked on to "this" deal for the breakdown. Then this makes some sense.
Horrendous - I have a hard time believing a top end SP that is going to get you Type A compensation is not worth at least a BA top 100 guy. This should be Marisnick, Hechaverria, and throw in RP
I'm cool - Alvarez is a good get for Buerhle. This is a prudent baseball move for a non-contending club
I don't like it, but Neutral - I take Bonifacios flexibility and small salary among lower end options, but this is irrelevant
Horrendous - this is taking on MORE salary for an even shittier catcher!!!!! They are effectively paying Jeff Fucking Mathis 2/$7.
These guys suck. At least if they got another top prospect, another good secondary guy, and another throw in maybe RP it could arguably make sense on a baseball level and the furor would only be for PR reasons. It just completely shows their incompetence. And yes, I know this is the TJ breakdown, but any scenario of breaking down this deal all comes back to "what the fuck did they get for Reyes?"
Clowns
Can someone make me a Loria and/or Samson head with a party hat and red nose so I can post something like with it
Samson just compared this trade to the A's trading some of their pitchers last off-season. He seems to forget that they got fair value and they also had a loaded minor league farm system.

Completely delusional. The A's didn't also just throw in Jose Reyes.
--------------------
The A's also gave Cespedes $36 million, Crisp $14, kept McCarthy and Balfour, traded for Seth Smith, and made smart tenders to guys like Colon and Gomes.

Reason: Doublepost Merged
I didn't understand that last rhetorical question when he said "I guess you think the Blue Jays are delusional too, then?" or something like that responding to Bomani Jones question.

I am not listening, but why would the Blue Jays be delusional of getting two all star caliber players, a good innings eater, and a perfect bench flex guy for a # 4 SP who some say will move to pen, a possible good CF prospect who scouts say has mechanical swing issues, and a couple other fringy MLB guys who likely fall into the "contributor" category instead of "cornerstone"
