With Oakland getting ready to tear down, I think we need to be trying to acquire Laureano or Chapman for guys like Meyer, Eder, Nicolas, etc.

I think his rough handful of starts made people forget how good Holloway was out of the pen(24 IP, .75 ERA, .792 WHIP, 9 K/9, .110/.204/.146 against).

I don't think that deal in itself necessarily rules out a major SS coming this offseason, because that's pretty decent value even on a super utility player, but I don't think a major SS is coming regardless.

Eh, them being the Marlins pretty much rules out a major SS move coming this offseason.

I dont expect any major moves under this ownership group tbh. This off-season or any. And unlike Loria they won't fall ass backwards into a playoff team built largely by Dombrowski.

Sounds like Bleday is hitting the AFL pretty well. From Baseball America today:

"The JJ Bleday Experience was in full swing on Monday in Mesa, where his Solar Sox played to a tumultuous, topsy-turvy, 10-inning tie, with a final score of 15-15. In the midst of all that offense, Bleday collected five hits, and was a triple shy of the cycle through three innings. With the big game, Bleday bumped his average to .400 and inched atop the league RBI leaders, with 18. Sign Trevor Story to a large value 2 year deal. He would still be <30 when it is over.

Use pieces at MLB and MiLB level to trade with Athletics(Murphy, who they should have demanded in the Marte deal), Rangers(Lowe), Orioles(Mountcastle), and Twins(Buxton). Trade all older pen arms for whatever you can get.

I'm very interested to see how they approach the catcher position. It's obviously a weak position around the league, so maybe the Marlins don't feel like they need a good one. Almost anyone would be an upgrade. But it does sound like it's going to be a priority. I'd like them to revisit Contreras. It didn't sound like he would have cost much last season, so maybe he still won't be cost-prohibitive. His WAR jumped three points, though, so the price may have jumped as well. I keep thinking Jacob Stallings is a name they might end up with in the end.
