Heineman starred for the Cardinals yesterday, killing two potential Marlin rallies by throwing out Berti and Marte on attempted steals. He also drew a walk to start the seventh for the Cards.

Was the auto balls and strikes system in use for Marlin games the last couple days?
    Take this somewhere else.

Again, Nola had a sub .700 OPS at New Orleans in 900 ABs, in the hitter-friendly PCL, at 28-years old when we released him. It's not like we didn't give him a chance. Career .679 OPS in 2654 ABs in the minor leagues. You're a liar if you're trying to claim you saw his improvement with the bat coming.

Heineman has done nothing of note in the major leagues as of yet, at 29-years old. Who cares?

Good addition. Could slot right in to the 5th spot or provide depth at the alternate site in case Rogers struggles.

Likely Alternate site till mid April/May but exactly. They been trying to get 1 SP and 2 or 3 RP on Milb deals for 2 months now and kept striking out.

Reason being is they want depth "just in case". He is 1st guy up when SP is needed with Pop or Campbell DFA or 60 Day

            • love the gio addition. low risk, potentially decent reward. And gives some decent veteran #5 starter security if anyone struggles or if we face injuries. i liked samadrjia over him but like them both, especially in our ballpark. plus we've been after him across several regimes for almost a decade now.

O he will be up just depends when. They need a LHP which y prolly got the call.

Can be #5 and send Rogers down
Can be #5 and send Rogers to pen

Only thing is 60 Day or DFA a Rule 5 guy or someone after OD

                • rogers in the pen makes no sense at this stage.

                  • I'm really hoping Nick Neidert gets at least 10-15 starts this year so we can see what he has.

Not saying it does. Just saying its an option-u have 6 other SP in AAA. Some in system see him as #3 SP and others see Hader/Andrew Miller

Yes please. He is Woody Williams when healthy. Pitch in ML for 15 years as a #4/5 SP and eat innings

Like most on Marlins his issues are health and needs reps

you also have 10 other bullpen options and rogers needs to be getting as many innings under his belt as possible so long as he is considered a future starter. They better not be running his service time clock to be a long or middle reliever.
