I'm just pointing out that what the Phillies are about to do will be called for making "tough baseball decisions" while the Marlins trades, done for the exact reasons, is called a firesale by idiots like Passan. It's unfair, but it is what it is.

You don't have to explain anything to me. I'm just saying that getting annoyed by it is useless.

Three teams in all of MLB have a run differential lower than the Marlins -79:
Rockies
Astros
Twins
Only the Cubs have scored less runs than the Marlins in MLB
Definitely a solid core that should not have been dismantled at the deadline, Jeff

• After all that Josh Johnson talk, the Marlins were telling teams Monday they're just going to keep their ace unless something unforeseen happens. With 15 scouts watching closely Sunday, Johnson turned in a six-walk, four-whiff, five-inning start that one scout summed up with one word: "Uninspiring." So the Marlins are informing clubs they see more value in keeping Johnson, heading into his free-agent year, than trading him just to say they did.

Ballpark, hitting coach, expectations, pick your favorite narrative. There's something going on, you cannot tell me that a group of players all on the good side of 30 suddenly lost "it" together.
Who else lost it?
