Other than the LoMo thing, that's the perfect stance for them to take on JJ. Here's hoping they stick to it.

      • Definitely too soon to give up on LoMo.

this shit doesn't matter and I know it, but I still like seeing stuff like this:

        Logan Morrison ‏@LoMoMarlins
Fans (& haters) i know im slumping. Im sorry. No 1 wants 2 b a productive member of a winning team more than me. Working my ass off 2 fix it

          • I know Beef.

I don't really like him either, but it's still too early to give up on him.

              • LoMo is two years removed from by the 21st or 22nd best prospect in baseball. I still believe he can be a consistently good player (and a first baseman in the future). When he was in the minors, I thought he'd come to the minors and be a guy with great plate discipline, walk a ton, and maybe a small bit of power would come as his career progressed. The power surge was a nice surprise, but that ability to get on base has yet to translate, and his plate recognition isn't as good as it was as when he was in the minors in 09/10.

                • He might be Jeremy Hermida though.

                  We'll see.

Yea, but at 2013 club controlled, and 2014 a likely cheap arbitration based on not doing so much so far, I think he is a 2 year lock to see if he works out. I think they ditched Hermida after his first arbitration year.

I'm willing to give LoMo a shot to be part of the core moving forward if they use him right (i.e. as a first baseman who hits second in the lineup). I hope we've put his days as a fifth-hitting LF behind us.

                      • i like all the talk these past couple of days about trades, but its a bad time for this franchise right now, they thought they could win with all this talent but i did work out and because of the team under performing we have had to trade some good players to make up for the failures of others. i just think if ur going to reconstruct the core u might ass well clean the whole house top to bottom and leave only the cornerstones like reyes, stanton, and turner(yes cause hes the top pitching prospect the marlins have right now). if texas gives up olt and another top hitting prospect u do that cause we have alot of pitching right now but not alot of infield hitting or hitting for that matter.

Well, that's kinda hard to do.

                          • Am I the only one that'd be down to do Nolasco, Bell for Bourjos and a spect? Maybe a B/B- spect (not sure they even bring in that much!)

                            • I'm pretty sure lots of Marlins fans would be "down" to do that, I just don't know that the Angels would be.

If it's up to me, I'd do the trade without even getting a prospect. Get rid of those contracts and set up for next yr.
