It's not about the way this season started, or about the way the last one ended.
Fire Mallee or Bill Robinson or Eduardo or Edwin any other popular cries for a fix...the common thread is Beinfest hired all of them.
He's failed miserably in the draft, I don't think anyone here will dispute that.
His roster assembly has always been pretty poor (and that's ignoring this year, since it is too early). We're seemingly always "all in" on one area and woefully neglectful of other areas.
My point is more that, if Beinfest's job is theoretically on the line this year (and, why shouldn't it be, he's no longer hamstrung by payroll limitations), it'd be beneficial for the team to make a move now, in advance of the draft, rather than to allow Beinfest another potentially wasted draft, especially with us having the #9 pick.

Should we fire all the scouts in the organization too?

We've done this an insanely high amount of times. I don't think he's been "miserable" or anything close to it. He's been about average, maybe a little bit below.
He's been bad in the first round, but has made up for it beyond that.

There's just no good excuse for how woeful we've been in recent years in the draft and trades. Save for Theo's sabbatical we've done jack shit since 2004 (except for Pierre for Nolasco+). And if you didn't like the LoDuca trade, we've done jack shit since 2002 (Pavano).

We were 11-6 after 17 games last season. Just to totally slam home how meaningless a record 17 games in is.
