Mike fucking Dunn is too much for Cody Ross? Really?
          It doesn't say that

LF or DH for the White Sox.

          CF for the Twins.

          CF for the Rangers.

Those are just the AL Contenders.
Numbers are one thing, but the GM/Manager making that move to have Cody start is another.

I don't see Cody starting over Curtis Granderson or Brett Gardner

Cody could start at CF for the Rays, I think BJ has just about worn out his welcome. Cody would not start over Zobrist.

I don't know how the Sox feel about Daniel Nava, but he seems to be hitting the crap out of the ball, so I would assume LF is out of the question for Cody in Boston. Mike Cameron owns centerfield. JD in RF.

No argument with the White Sox, Juan Pierre blows, as does Mark Kotsay.

Nor do I seem him starting over Denard Span.

Pedro Borbon blows, but I don't know how they feel about him down there.

          • It implies that biz. All reports say we were asking for too much, this one says we asked for Dunn, if that wasn't too much we'd have a Dunn deal.

            I hate myself for that.

            • The Yankees want Cody as the #4 OF. The problem is they dont wanna pay him 4 million as a #4 OF.

The Marlins asked for David Robertson or Ivan Nova and a mid level prospect for him which the Yankees also consider way to high

Also if Wes Helms go to Texas we would be paying his salary for this year and get a better prospect OR 2 prospects instead of 1

              • I mean, the Yankees would only owe Cody about $2mil for the rest of the year

                • Ivan Nova alone would be a very very good coup for Ross. Shit dude can be a starter here.

                  • Jorge Cantu and Adam LaRoche are among the names the Angels have discussed, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Those veteran rentals could help the Halos at first base, but changing leagues is said to be a big factor for the Angels. Alberto Callaspo wouldn't be making the change; Rosenthal says the Royals infielder is on the Angels' short list. Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles first reported that target yesterday afternoon.

Regarding the first base situation, the Angels are said to prefer a rental player since Kendry Morales will be back next year. Aside from Cantu and LaRoche, the market features Lance Berkman, Derrek Lee, Xavier Nady, Lyle Overbay, and others. Despite the name value, keep in mind that many of these first basemen are having lackluster seasons.

                    • The Red Sox had a scout at the Rockies' game Wednesday night, but it wasn't tied to Chris Iannetta. While Boston will likely revisit talks for the catcher in the offseason, the Red Sox need relief pitching. The Marlins have a battery of electric arms, including closer Leo Nuñez.

                      • We have a battery of electric arms that we all hated the first half of the season now teams might be interested in them. Amazin'!

                        • Gone fishing: A week and a half ago, the Marlin who seemed most likely to get traded by the deadline was Dan Uggla. Now it appears the Fish have decided that Uggla's bat is such an irreplaceable commodity that they're more focused on trying to extend his contract and commit to him as their second baseman as they move into their new ballpark in 2012.
So that explains why teams calling on Uggla are being redirected toward the very available Jorge Cantu. The three teams believed to be most interested in Cantu: the Rangers, Rockies and Angels.

Meanwhile, one baseball man estimates that Florida could have as many as a dozen teams trying to pry away Cody Ross -- including two clubs in its division, the Braves and Phillies. But teams inquiring about Ricky Nolasco and Leo Nunez are being told they would have to "wow" the Marlins to persuade them to move either pitcher.

                          • Haren's locked up for the next three years at a fairly reasonable price and if they traded Ricky and Leo and Cody in separate deals they could probably fit him into the payroll next year.

                            So do it!!!!1!!ONE!

                              • Aren't Haren and Ricky basically the same thing? Lots of K's low walks but get bit by the XHB bug. Also where did Haren talk come from? Just talking out of your fannys huh.
