I wonder if the marlins are still interested in Octavio Dotel, cause he would be a good acquisition for the 2010 and 2011 team. He probably going to cost 1.5mil for the rest of the season, and in 2011 he going to make 4.5 mil, not bad.
Also, his stats this year appear average (2-2 4.38 era 3.85 FIP 11.08 K/9 3.92BB/9 1.15 HR/9), but i think alot of that is misleading. He had a horrible April, with 11 ER in 9.1 inning. But since then he has pitched great, from May to July he has a 2.43 era, striking out 36 in 29.1 innings, and only give up 2 HR.
Furthermore he will most likely be a type B FA, so if we offer arb. we can recoup one of the prospect we give up for him. IMO if we do trade for him, it would cost 2 C+ or 1 B prospect.

Just Fishing: Teams that have been talking to the Marlins report that they've put all their Cody Ross trade talks on hold since Chris Coghlan's bizarre shaving-cream-pie knee injury. The Marlins have told clubs that if they slip out of the NL East and/or wild-card races next month, they could deal Ross in August. But there's almost no chance he'd get through waivers, so it would be just a one-team conversation.Originally posted by Matt WilsonFish and Chips just became the smartest man on the board
