Mike Stanton Wants to Be a Major Leaguer Now

I think you are being very overoptimistic about a guy with gigantic question marks. Spring Training is not the time to decide to call Mike Stanton up.
He's got all over the field power. He's not just developing it, he has it. The power is absolutely not the question, and the question cannot be answered based on a couple dozen spring training at bats. He's "hitting for average" in what, 18 plate appearances?
Are we really at the point where we want to say "Hey, Cameron Maybin/Cody Ross, sorry. 19 PAs and we're sold!"Last edited by Bobbob1313; 03-15-2010, 09:04 PM.poop

There will be room for him in July if he absolutely has nothing left to prove. Someone will be hurt/struggling/we can make a trade (Uggla or Ross) to make room for him.
This is the textbook definition of rushing him. Especially with how badly he struggled in AA. I want to see him at least hit at every level.poop

To people enamored with his spring production, look at Bonifacio the last 2 springs. It shouldnt be the determining factor on a player's promotion.Amy Adams, AKA Cinnamon MuffLogan Morrison: "If baseball didn't exist, I would probably be ... like a curler. Or a hairstylist."
