Nothing groundbreaking no.

But what will get more fans, constantly being a 60 win team or knocking that number up to the 70's? It's not about Aki himself, it's about the team being better while giving up barely anything.

Rebuilding is pointless if the fanbase completely leaves.

it is a great 1 for 1 trade, except now they've (presumably) committed to delmon young in LF and denard span in CF, which is a terrible defensive OF that could cost them depending on how target field plays. plus delmon's not exactly a safe bet with the bat.

they'd probably have been better off shipping delmon elsewhere but his value was also likely far less than gomez's. and now they have a SS for at least his arb years and with the possibility of re-signing him in the future.

if they can pick up another starter in the infield (either at 3B or 2B) and re-sign pavano (or bring in a pavano-like vet) they've got a real good squad

JJ had to leave Milw after he voiced his displeasure at the FO for sending him to AAA when he was batting like .219. He is a head case. great fielder very up and down hitter. Gomez coming to Milwaukee pretty much seals the deal that Cameron is not going to be resigned and they can spend that money on starting pitching.
