        I'm OK with Cabrera winning, but the fact that it was 22-6 is pretty much a joke.

          @JeffPassan
          Miguel Cabrera should thank the Chicago White Sox for choking, Josh Hamilton for slumping and the Los Angeles Angels bullpen for stinking.
          The same can be said of Don Kelly. Should we have awarded him the MVP instead?

            I don't really understand the point you are trying to make.

              He's saying how Passan is essentially stating that Cabrera did nothing to deserve the award and that only external factors got it for him.

                Well, Passan's not entirely wrong on that, I think. I think the Tigers making the playoffs and the Angels missing the playoffs played at least some part in the voter's minds.

                Which is a stupid way to vote. Since the Angels were a much better team than the Tigers.

                Also, I still don't understand what Don Kelly has to do with it.

                  I think Mendoza just used Kelly as an example to prove his point that Passan was kind of acting like Cabrera did nothing to deserve the award.
                  --------------------
                  It's also incredibly stupid for Passan to include Hamilton's slump.

                    I think he was saying that if Hamilton finished with two more home runs, Cabrera probably doesn't win the MVP.

                      Yeah but I think that's kind of silly. I mean then you can say that if Cabrera hits two more home runs then that isn't even an issue.

                        Sure. It's silly to give someone an award because they accomplished an arbitrary feat that hasn't been accomplished in a long time.

                          You're forgetting Cabrera's team made the playoffs.

                          Dumbass.
