    • They also have one of the most inherintly unlikeable and douchebaggy fanbases in sports.

      • I don't think they deserve to be in the playoffs just because I'm not a fan of the new playoff system but making them out to be a mediocre is certainly dumb.

That equals no above average bat in their lineup? What the fuck?

          • Also, your other comment about their team is also false. Their bullpen is not "awful." You say dumb things.

            • They averaged 4.46 runs per game in the second half, which would have ranked fifth in the National League for the whole season.

It's certainly mediocre. 19th in the league in bullpen ERA, 27th in bullpen WAR.

Yes, their bullpen truly was "awful". They made efforts to improve it but for much of the year its not a stretch to say it was one of the worst in the league.

                • Also, isn't their fan base generally regarded as one of the classiest fan bases in sports?

But it's a very different bullpen now. The talent level of the bullpen now is not the same as it was early in the year. They always had a good setup/closer and now their depth is good too with the addition of Mujica/having Lynn/Rosenthal/Kelly in the pen.

                      • The funniest thing about this is this probably isn't even the worst Cardinals team to make the playoffs in the last 13 months.

                        • Yea, last years were nothing special. Difference was that team had momentum going into the playoffs. This years got in by virtue of being a little less bad than the Dodgers over the last few weeks.

It is not an awful bullpen right now.
You must really hate the Cardinals. Calling a team with a +117 run differential "arguably the worst playoff team in years" is laughable.

They were basically just as good as the team that won the World Series last year.

They're also certainly not even the worst Cardinals playoff team of the last decade. 2006 team was way worse and it's not even arguable.

I posted their record over the final months of the season. They were a 90-win team from July 1 on. You can also look these stupid things you are saying up. Maybe try that?

13-7 over the last 20 games.

Dodgers went 12-8 over the last 20 games.

                              • Once again, I live in their market and watch them every night. They were very fortuitous to play the Cubs and Astros in 9 straight games(7-2) in the middle of September. They were 10-13 aside from that.
