Never have we gotten played and failed to react in a silly way! Never!

Something about silliness after insult really seems to piss your enemies the hell off.

What clubs? There are no other clubs! Cubs and Angels interest are both minimal, and he's not going to get a better offer than the Marlins offer.

Lozano didn't get Pujols the biggest deal possible. He couldn't even convince the Cardinals to put in a 10th year after the Marlins did. He failed Albert as an agent imo.

        • I thought it was reported that the Cardinals added the 10th year...?
          --------------------
Also, it isn't his job to make Pujols sign the highest priced deal. He got Pujols the offers to consider and Pujols can take it from there with some guidance. In what would should the agent just force his client to take the highest money deal with no other considerations?
          --------------------
          MH, that was serious, see?

          • It was then reported that they didn't. Nobody knows.

My guess: Cards pulled extra year after Buerhle signed, which is why these "other teams" are all in on Albert all of the sudden.

I said the most from the Cardinals. He wanted to be with the Cardinals all along, and Lozano did his best to make up fake teams to raise the Cardinals price, but they never budged. A good agent probably could've gotten more than two teams interested in the best free agent who is the best player in baseball.

And the 10th year is supposedly a team option.

That would be some cut throat shit right there.

                • You didn't say the most from the Cardinals - you're post is right up there ^

Then you said this and added the "even" which would make one logically assume that it is not the same exact thought as the previous sentence.

9 or 10 year contract for a 31-35 year old with an average annual salary of over $20M a year is not the kind of deal that is going to have too many teams competing.

                  • That and Albert clearly wants to stay in St. Louis

If they did that, he should take our deal out of spite
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

                      • Semantics.

Scott Boras got 10 years $275 for a 32 year old A-Rod. Not the best comparison, but just sayin.

It's weird that everyone was all "10 years, 10 years" over the last few days and then all of the it was "oh lol 9 years actually."

                          • What Ramp said too. If the first couple of negotiations reach an insane price that most every other team in baseball cannot compete with.......

Why should it be expected that other teams will offer higher prices? Just because 2 or 3 teams is a low number of teams?

That would be such a silly Connecticut thing to do.

It's not semantics. You said one thing and when I responded you said that you said something that you did not say.

Anyway, look at the Yankees. They are stuck with a declining ARod making insane money that he is not worth. Perhaps there is something to learn from there.
