Source: there is optimism that marlins and pujols's agent will work through hurdle regarding no-trade clause. If so, all bets off.

        • Daft,

The ballpark is being paid with tourist tax money. In this case, the taxpayers paying for it are yuppies from Europe. A very small % will come from local taxpayers.

Why isn't the media taking shots at Washington's ballpark? I want to say the Nats only contributed $15 million for that.

Because that was the only way to get the team to move to that city...? It is a little different.

Cardinals welcomed Pujols' entry into FA for his market to establish itself. Marlins doing it. Cards are getting cornered.

I don't see how that matters. They weren't seriously going to Las Vegas.

                • Who? Washington? No, but maybe Portland or Charlotte.

The Marlins one is bad because we weren't seriously leaving, we just got the city to blink (which is fine).

                  • STL radio station had David V on. They thought he was still with Fox Sports and they were like "ohhh" and then he mentioned that he writes his own blog and gave his info about Marlins thinking they have Pujols done and that Pujols went back to the Cards to see if they would match/up the offer.

After he got off with them they compared it to Dan Patrick's moment of think he had Steve Bartman on the phone on his radio show when it was actually a prank caller.

                    • So maybe we (not we) should stop posting his tweets and blog here if we are going to make laugh-y faces about him?

The #marlins have offered Pujols a 10 year deal in excess of 200 million. #StLCardinals expected to counter today

My calculations show #Marlins payroll could skyrocket to $110-120 million with Pujols signing.

Marlins spending spree has some in MLB very worried. If you build it and buy it, is not a guarantee in real life they will come
