I have no problem with Albert using Marlins as leverage. With Bell, Reyes, and the pursuit of Pujols, everyone in baseball has done a 180 on the Marlins and that is awesome.

I'm sure they are just discussing what previous metal to make the statute out of. Pujols wants to ensure it's not made out of broken glass and aluminum bud cans.

I think it's clear now that Pujols was never going to sign with us. He was just using us for leverage, that's fine, strictly business. With the extra year we got him he can buy an even bigger private island in the Caribbean. He'll be a legend in St. Louis and that franchise has the best fans in baseball and they deserve their legend.

Now we can go out and build a more complete ball club instead of stretching ourselves incredibly thin on acquiring Pujols. Pujols would've been great for publicity, but nothing trumps winning. Texas fans seemed to care a whole lot more about making 2 straight world series than they did about Albert Rodriguez winning an MVP award with the team missing the playoffs.
