I don't think this is the case unless you are suggesting Zumaya got shelled

    Zumaya: 2ip 3h 1r(0er) 0bb 1k
    Perry: 1ip 1h 0r 0bb 1k
    Valverde: 1ip 0h 0r 0bb 0k

Not a bad line today, hope he turns it around.

If you told the Tigers at the start of spring training that they'd be able to get 5 innings out of Dontrelle, they'd take it no questions asked. Is it stellar or ideal? No, but it's not a real problem either.

Fine, if NateBob does that, I want a happy Swift

He gave them a chance to win and that's all I think they wanted from him. He has been getting out a lot of trouble lately, not sure how long that will last.

                12 baserunners in 5 innings isn't a bad line?

he got lucky he was able to face Ankiel twice with runners on

I'd say this was a step back from last week

Well, I was talking about Zumaya only and I wasn't aware it was an unearned run. No doubt this outing was worse than his first start though.

                  Also, what Swift said.

The thing is, "not bad" does not mean "good."

It was a not bad line, which is, not bad.

In and of itself, 5 innings 4 runs, all earned, shouldn't lose every single time. That's enough of an effort from a back of the rotation guy, even ignoring Dontrelle's issues. With Dontrelle's issues, going long enough in a game to qualify for a W is nearly cause for celebration.

superficially, that's 'not bad'. But I guarantee you 12 runners in 5 innings normally amounts to more than 4 runs.

I think the other team's good players didn't play. But he did well
