Let's get a proven commodity in here, Cole or Rendon, get people's attention, things are different now.

5 Years / $170 million on Cole, it'll be coming off the books by the time we hopefully have to start re-signing the guys we have. We could easily maintain a bottom 10 payroll even with that contract on the books.
I totally agree with you. They absolutely should sign one of them - heck, go nuts and sign both - I'm just trying to keep my expectations low, as 1) Cole is an ace - that means a lot of teams will be in on him, and 2) we don't know how much they're willing to spend, as we haven't seen them spend yet, and in order to "win" and sign him, we'll have to be well above and beyond other offers given our history.

Why should I have been open to yet someone else who came in with guns blazing, firing Rich Walz for his Yankee buddy Paul Severino (who is not much better in year two, and is still paired with Mr Yuckity-it-up Hollandsworth - he is just horrible) and firing all the Legends Guys, then seeing the backlash, offers them insults to crawl back to kiss the Jeter ring. Then sending a player on a team friendly contract to Milwaukee who turns out to be the MVP.....so yes I was pretty sour & cranky. Seemed like "same old Marlins".

I now like a LOT of what I see, so please tell me of all my negative posts this last couple of months ?
You haven't posted lately that I've seen, so you couldn't have posted negatively, neutral, or positively. haha.

That said, it's hard to "cut you slack" since all of us our fans of the team, and we ALL have been "damaged and abused" too by both previous owners and this group with the points you brought up; you're not the only one watching/being affected by the antics of ownership. The difference is whether we (collective "we") choose to dwell on those decisions/moves, or whether we choose to look forward. They can't undo the past, but they can build a better future, and it looks like they're well on their way to doing that. I get that we each have a different timeline of when we "get over" things, but your timeline is definitely more elongated than most of us it seems.

Should I go on? This is pretty much all of your recent postings.
At the time they were reasonable posts. Most people like myself, don't have time or the inclination to be a geek on baseball or it's statistics, were pretty much just typical fans/normal people with wives, children and/or grandchildren, that we spend our time with.So many keyboard warriors on this board

      • At the time? These posts are all from the last 2 months. It's only been negativity since you've showed up here. There is no take in your posts, you're a troll that tries to get a rise out of people and you've found a person that will take the bait in fish16 and I'm convinced that's the only reason you come here.

Well, it's because I'm older than almost all of you guys. I had been married & already widowed by the time the team started. I lived through only 6 winning seasons in 27 campaigns, and none since 2009. I've earned the right to be cranky, pissed and VERY skeptical of the team & ownership. Most of you guys are under 40.

I admit I've trolled him...but you guys have trolled me much more. I'm just an ordinary fan, not a statistics geek, and I think that's why you have no respect for me....because you don't think anything I have to say has merit. So be it, I also have little respect for most of you guys because of your humanless way you treat an outsider. I get that most of you are tRumpanzee Refucklican & corporatist Obama/Biden Demorat lackeys, which does explain your behavior towards anyone that is outside your narrow viewpoint, it carries over to baseball as well.

So yes since I showed up here.....how many times have we had a winning team, and good ownership in that time ?

          • I'm more negative than not about the team. There a lot of people on here that are negative about the team.

The difference is, we aren't only negative about the team, and have nothing else to bring to the table.

              • So to change the subject....

The Marlins' Dimelo campaign has this as one of the questions this week:

Which purchase type should be the highest priority among the Marlins initiatives to further invest in the cost of game attendance?

-Preferred rate for advanced purchase of tickets
-Parking pass day of game rate
-Introductory price points for Marlins gear at retail locations
-Additional food items on $3 o $5 Menu
                -Other - Please Specify

It's hard to argue otherwise. I thought the #Marlins did better than any other team in terms of acquiring prospects at the deadline. #Top30Prospects

Look at #Marlins fans getting greedy. Seriously, he's not far off, either. This system is on the rise, for sure. #Top30Prospects
This is in response to a question about edward cabrera being in the top 100. this is also the guy who makes mlb.com's list which usually is pretty shitty though. I think cabrera has earned top 100 status. Garrett and rogers not far behind him.

I like Garrett a little more than Rogers, could see both as mid-rotation starters, maybe a No. 2 slot for Garrett.

i just looked at his career numbers and they are just absurd. Fitterer too seems like even though he has had some control woes to start his career he clearly has just filthy stuff.

                              Yes. And Soriano and Mejia.

I think that Garret/Rogers analysis is correct. Garret is going to be a starter, and Rogers a real multi-inning bullpen weapon over 90+ innings.

Sixto, Caleb, Pablo, Cabrera, and Garret has to be the ideal internal rotation, and Neidert has 3 options to be the 6th SP in AAA 20-22, Yamamoto 2 options for 20-21, and take an ace #3-4 overall in 2020 draft. Some emerging depth with Fitterar, Soriano, Mejia, maybe Palacios.

                              Sandy, Guzman, Stanek, Elisier, Steckenrider/Brice/Brigham
                              Rogers, Garcia, Quijada/TBD

Fuck yea. No tommy johns please.

                              • I have no idea if Palacios will be any good, but 5 BBs in 95 IP last two years is unbelievable for anyone let alone an 18-19 year old.
