  • Still talking Caleb Smith as well!!

Remember this-Miami has cash and few big FA arms over next 2 years will be around. Alot easier to sign 1 of them then sign a FA SS

Still want that high end bat BUT Miami is said to be willing to take a package now for Caleb.

    St Louis-Gorman,Junior Fernandez,Malcom Nunez and ?
    Cleveland-Nolan Jones and stuff

Nick Anderson is still possible to

The problem for me is, other teams need pitching too. And other teams will be willing to pay for these top FA arms too. And if money is roughly equal, do those FA arms go to team A, or do they come to the (historical) circus that is Miami?

It's fun to throw out hypothetical "what if we sign Cole, what if we sign ____, ___, and ____ FA starters", but I just can't count on that.

I still keep Caleb unless you're massively blown away by a deal.

      ----

So now that we finally have depth in pitching, we're just going to say "ok trade all the pitchers for offense!!" ???

        Cooper, _____
        Diaz
        Rojas, _____
        Anderson
        H. Ramirez, Dean
        Brinson, Sierra
        _____

        Urena, Caleb, Pablo, Sandy, Elisier
        Anderson, Steckenrider, Brice, Richards, Brigham/Guerrero
        Garcia, Conley, Quijada (DFA-Chen)

=$42 million in 2020, and $27+ of that is Chen, Urena, Rojas, and Conley

        • People should respect that these are the types of trades the Marlins should be doing. They traded for a player who was undervalued at the time by their organization (Gallen, who wasn't even valued as high as Sandy Alcantara stupidly by the Cardinals), let him grow naturally to the point that they've now traded him for one of the top shortstop prospects in baseball.

That is the type of stuff that turns you into a winner. It's the type of chances that the Cubs and Astros did to get to where they are.

          • Marlins have to make decision on Conley. Hearing 4 offers for him(all kinda lowball)

Exactly!! I still remember when we got Gallen and people were crapping on him. Ceiling was #5 SP

O we are on the Didi FA signing now? I remember the good old days(last month) when no one wanted to pay the price for either of them!!

There was only "1" person not wanting to pay that price

                        • The progression of...

Ozuna------->Alcantara (4.18 MLB ERA), Daniel Castano (3.86 AA ERA), and now Chisholm (.966 OPS in A+ 20 years old).

Meanwhile Marcel Ozuna has regressed to a WAR that together as a Cardinals hasn't matched his final season as a Marlin.

That is a big win. They ended up not having to pay Ozuna and got 1 current MLB starter, a guy who will soon be an MLB starter option, and a top 60 SS prospect out of the deal.

For however bad the Yelich trade has turned out, the Ozuna trade was actually a win.

                          • I kinda like this trade more now. Or I talked myself into liking it.

Chisholm though I have doubts has crazy potential and he’s very young. So if he figured it out fabulous. But another thing I like about him is that if they do decide to trade for Lindor a package that includes Jazz night intrigue the Indians a lot more.

                            • They should throw an ungodly amount of money at Rendon or Cole now. $35/year for 7. Something stupid.
