Well that got a Scrubb for Tyler White-Andre Scrubb 6'5 265lbs RP with Eveld numbers in AA so thats probably there asking price(arm who doesn't need to be on 40 man which we have tons of) for the DFA guys

Perfect for us. 2B/4th OF LHB with some power(better Herrera/JT Riddle)
i hope he is released soon. i legitimately feel bad for the kid with how much he has struggled. That's gotta be a lonely ass feeling on the mound when he has 0 idea where the hell the ball is going. There was a video of a pitch he threw where banfield was behind the plate and the ball was so far over banfield's head even he, a great defensive catcher, could do absolutely nothing besides just go chase it from the backstop.

U should watch the gamecast when he pitches. Nothing is even close to the strike zone-sad thing is he has zero secondary pitches and FB that he throws for strikes only comes in at 92. Kid just never learned how to pitch-threw 99/100 in HS and when arm went he is a nothing

Reason I mention Houston is he is from there-they will probably give him a look after we release him

Add a new team into the SP market

TB just lost Blake Snell to elbow surgery

BEST system in MLB might need an arm!!!

Thats what good drafting will do for u. U get guys like Tony Kemp in the 5th Rd instead of guys who cant get out of A Ball
Kemp is good for every team in the league. Going to be a lot better stuff compared to White. I'm sure they'd love to send him to a NL non-contender.

Elisier makes a lot of sense here. Someone they could use now and has an option for AAA.

True I would be cool giving up a mid level prospect for him but would try for RP like Brigham/Graves type and a DSL player first see if they bite. Houston doesnt need much but RP depth is something they can use and always love getting DSL guys

id be hesitant to ever give them a lower minor league level DSL guy. they seem to have unfuckingbelievable scouting in that area. They got Yordan alvarez from the dodgers that way before he even played a minor league game and got martes from us as well that way.

My guess is that you are undervaluing Brigham. I think he will be very good in the Marlins pen once he gets used to being a major leaguer.

                    • I think Brigham is good enough to be in our pen. Maybe not a high leverage situation guy still......

Alcantara's July numbers are especially brutal. Yamamoto's fortuitous start appears to have been just that. Gallen is walking a batter an inning. And Smith is barely a shadow of his April self. The next couple years could be long ones.

First off, massive props to the Rays. They have the lowest payroll in baseball below the really really bad teams. They have a major league team that is in contention and doing things other MLB teams never even considered trying before. And they have a top system in baseball. If any team is going to become the next Houston Astros/Chicago Cubs/etc... model it will be them.

Also massive improvement from the Marlins. Obviously a large part of that jump is in pitching. The everyday lineup is still a huge question mark long term. Lewis Brinson not turning out to be valuable immediately is a major negative on the long term future of the team.

I like Brigham but fact is we have about 10-15 RP who have exact same stuff and are younger

Rays draft BPA every year, get Top 5 IFA every year and know when to trade their best players. They dont hold onto guys at all-they trade them at highest value

Caleb Smith did nothing prior to posting a 2.41 ERA in the minors at Brigham's age.

                              • SP market for us is heating up. Actually pitching in general

MadBum/Stroman/Wheeler off the board while Thor is likely headed to LA or out West. Still waiting for SF/Toronto/Texas/Detroit to figure stuff out

Still havent gotten what they are looking for but Caleb,Richards and Sandy are getting calls. Miami is likely gonna go down to wire with them and hope a team gets desperate but Richards is still most likely to be dealt(doubt he is unless offers get better) . Our RP have been really busy with Brice and Romo but have gotten calls on them ALL from Conley to AAA guys. Nick Anderson has a crazy price still

Reason market is so quiet is only like 6 or 7 sellers (Balt/Det/KC/Miami/Toronto/NYM/Seattle)3 or 4 arent even real sellers they only are interested in trading few names and no one wants to make the first move and get too little.
