  • The guys that should've come in for Romo two days ago are doing awesome.

    • some weird order at the end of the top 20 list posted on the athletic, they had brian miller right ahead of Connor Scott and Osiris Johnson, and Jorge Guzman way to high for my liking as he is one of the most obvious reliever candidates we have in the system right now just ahead of Holloway (although you dont move holloway yet until he simply cannot be a starter). They have guzman ahead of holloway, rogers, and banfield.

Which is a lot better than the 4 earned runs Romo gave up 2 days ago.

        • we're still blaming mattingly for not taking out romo when he should have had 2 outs and 1 on if a ball that is an out 76% of the time didnt fall based on us playing our defense way too far back?

We're still just gonna ignore like you didnt see my post that you're blaming romo for a ball that is an out 76% of the time that is not at all comparable to your aunt having balls?

          • I cant wait for that bounty we're going to get for Granderson.

Nick brought it up not me.

You’re fucking out of your mind if you can’t comprehend why pulling Romo for Brigham to face Acuna was the right move after Romo gave up a double, a walk, a balk and a single.

Im not, because he's your best reliever, brigham is not a good pitcher and wasnt available, and you continue to ignore the fact that the single was a fairly routine pop that is an out 75% of the time. It wasn't an egregious move in the slightest, and mattingly makes plenty of them. But honestly, who the fuck cares and its an old argument that no one cares about so we can just agree to disagree.

conley needs to be sent down already. I said it the second the deadline past last year, but not trading steckenrider and him is just awful mismanagement and a huge missed opportunity to sell high.

                • The biggest point is, there are literally no good options. Garcia and Brigham came in with 1 on and 2 outs and walked 3 in a row to give up the inherited run. Conley comes in and is getting hammered like usual.

Conley is out of options. But he does stink. Those guys were also not bringing in big time prospects so it really didn't matter. Baseball has been a buyers market for 2 years.

Don't expect much this deadline for anyone but Urena, who may get something OK assuming he is healthy

                    • I wonder what goes through Conley’s mind this season when he’s out there pitching?

“Holy shit there was a time when I was effective what the fok happened to me?”

“Please God let the next piss rod line drive get hit right at one of my outfielders so I can go back in the dugout”

he's even gotta be wondering himself wtf he has to do to be sent down or let go. Its june 11 and the guys ERA is over 8.

Completely forgot he was out of options, which makes a ton of sense now as to why he is still here. It's essentially the only reason he's still here id assume.

they could have gotten a solid prospect for Conley and steckenrider. No one is saying big time prospects, but they could have absolutely tried to maximize their return and sell high and just deal him straight up for the best hitting prospect they could have gotten.

I don't think they could have, or they would have for at least Barraclough and Conley. They certainly would have moved them if they could have got anything above Eveld or Mills. I don't blame them for holding onto them if those were the offers, or Steckenrider in general as he has a ton of control and showed a lot previous two years. If you can give me names of what they turned down, I'd like to see them.

every report was they were asking for a top prospect. OBviously i dont have inside info, but given their control and how great those guys were at that point last year, they 100% would have gotten more than a guy like Mills. If they were free agents at the end of last year, id agree, but those guys and the years they were having and the control they had could absolutely fetch you a solid hitting prospect or a collection of a few decent lower minors guys.

He is struggling no doubt. Feel bad for the guy. Hit a sharp liner right at Goldy.

Granderson has the lowest BABIP (.229 before tonight) on the team.

Conley just talked Donnie into letting him stay in the game

                              • Wow, That fip isn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be just watching him this year. Fees like every time I’m actually watching when he’s been in the game this year he’s been absolutely shelled

Granderaon is the rare veteran I actually don’t mind us playing. It feels like he hasn’t been nearly as bad as the numbers indicate. I could go without him leading off so often though.
