Super early to start thinking about this but say Anderson and Caleb Smith keep lighting it up till the deadline, do you look to deal them for the best package of hitters you can get?

Anderson maybe if you can get a quality return...Smith no.

Smith has 4 more years of control after this one. He's potentially a #2 starter. In theory, he should still be cheap in 2 years when the team is starting to be competitive.

At some point you have to start keeping good players and not just flip them for prospects. We have the #4 pick in the draft this year and likely a top 3 pick next year. Load up there with hitters early in the draft. Sign free agent bats in the off-season...but start holding on to good, young, controllable players.

I think id agree. Smith is really fucking good. But if they could actually sell high and turn Anderson into a really good hitting prospect id do it. This is all very premature considering the deadline is 2 months away, just a thought. But it makes sense given how many arms we have in the system and how theoretically set our future bullpen should be with quality arms.

How would that make any sense? We should keep trading guys to get an extra year of control somewhere?

When you're traded to the Phillies of course.

Super premeditated throwing at Ureńa. They brought Touki or whatever the fuck his name up just so Gausman could get thrown out.

I keep asking this myself.....you have to start building something or you'll never build a fanbase.

Jeter unhappy with Marlins' play, attendance woes
I am shocked that he is shocked. Who knew jumping at the first offer for Yelich and getting a bunch of guys who were widly known to have pretty serious issues offensively and trading Ozuna for a reliever, 5th outfielder, and AAAA arm just so you could get their money off the books and taking a lesser package for Stanton because you wouldn't eat any money would not be well received?

Say what you want about the Yelich trade, but they didnt jump at the first offer. He was being shopped for a month or 2 before. They also ate like 30 million of stantons deal. And the Ozuna trade doesnt look bad at all despite your characterizations of the pieces.

Aaron Altherr was DFA. We should put in a claim even tho Philly will likely trade him
