If Mattingly had done that stupid defensive replacement at 1st with Rojas that he always did with Bour I think this game is over.

My take on the Marlins thus far:
1) Jose Urena isn’t ready to produce quality starts … and Zac Gallen is. Jose needs to work on his repertoire where results don’t matter. Gallen should be the Tuesday starter in Cincinnati.
2) Chen isn’t going to help the team at this time. Jarlin Garcia can. Chen to New Orleans.
3) Nick Anderson shows exactly what a closer should, both an excellent fastball and the team’s best slider. Steckenrider and Conley are not answers and are likely to do better as middle inning guys.
4) Austin Dean should have made the team as an everyday OF from Day One. O’Brien and Herrera are not major league options honestly. Dean doesn’t have much pop, but provides quality at bats and will get on base.
5) The team needs to start moving runners – way too many scoreless innings. Start bunting runners over and the inning-killing double plays will go away.
6) Should consider dropping Brian Anderson in the order until he starts to hit. Dean would be good filler in the two or three hole.

This today: First baseman Albert Pujols dominated headlines in 2011 when he elected to leave St. Louis, where he spent the first 11 seasons of his Hall of Fame career, for the Angels’ 10-year, $254MM offer. Pujols’ decision came after the Cardinals and Marlins also proposed decade-long contracts worth upward of $200MM.
I had no idea that Marlins made such an offer. Am I the only fan who was unaware of this?

Gallen isn't even on the 40 man
Chen to NOLA!!!(Even tho he can't)
Anderson,Steck,Conley are all like 28 already
Dean has no power and is stuck at LF/RF. O'Brien has power and Herrera plays all over
Team has NO speed
U realize they could care less about 2019 right? Goal is raise some guys value and trade them. See if others can stick for 2020.
Gallen probably gets a call later in the year but they aren't gonna waste an option on Gallen or Neidert if they dont have to. Brigham/Elieser/Yamamoto will get a call and Guzman too
One thing to remember is they are gonna start having 40 man crunches so if a guy doesn't have to be put on the 40 man he probably won't be. Its like Sierra-he wasn't and didn't need to be on 40 man when St Louis called him up. He shouldn't be on it but Marlins can't DFA cause he would be gone in a secondLast edited by tjfla; 04-08-2019, 11:23 AM.

Scott Boras the guy who wants EVERY MLB player to get a 5/100 deal(Ask Dallas Keuchel about that) is now crying that young players are signing 8/100+ million dollar deals because they should wait till FA and get teams bidding for them to get ALOT more cash
Guy is an idiot!!!

this team truly is a dumpster fire.....not much offense at all. How does Jeter sell this to the fans.....they only drew 800k last year. I'm afraid we won't draw that much this year.

The attendance is gonna be rough this year. Chen is un pitchable at this point and we need to just bite the bullet.
