Can't imagine a scenario where Realmuto stays, so the team needs to find catching somewhere - maybe sign a couple sleepers like ATL did last year (don't rely on one).
I LOVE Ortega. Never swings outside the zone, runs the bases, brilliant defense, lots of maturity. As of now, he's my leadoff hitter.
Anderson may be a lock, but he's no Camargo. ATL is the team to catch. BA's bat is not a plus for 3B IMO, but his defense is fine.
Dean looks good at the plate (a helluva lot better than Brinson) and could possibly hit .300 down the road. His speed is average but the arm is a real concern. For lack of competition, he likely starts.
MI and first base look really cloudy
I will be shocked if Brinson becomes a regular and quite surprised if Harrison or I. Diaz ever make it.
Well with your prospect evaluation credentials who can argue with that?

I haven’t gotten a full confirmation on it per se, so file this under “opinion.” I believe one of the orders of business when the Marlins season ends is removal of the HR sculpture. Say your goodbyes, 8 home games left.
Im indifferent so I dont care what they do either way but figured id post it.

      • I don't hate the HR sculpture, I just hope they have something cool in mind to replace it with.

Yeah, let's not just have a giant hole in the wall.

FWIW, I always thought just having an animatronic marlin that comes out of "water" and flops around kinda like this: https://youtu.be/hvu6a2T2n1A?t=1m5s would be neat.

Basically it'd be on a telescoping pole, it raises out of the water, flops around back and forth like a marlin does, and retracts back into the water.

(go to 1:05 in the video)

            • Excited to see Alcantara tonight. Hopefully he can have a strong month to close the year.

Brinson has looked good in the incredibly small sample since coming back. Hopefully he too can build on a big september to head into next year.

              • Alcantara has been great tonight and Brinson's approach at the plate is so much better than it was in the beginning of the year. He needs to be hitting leadoff or at the top of the order already and maximize this last month for the youngguys.

                • Brinson's average over .200 for the first time since April 5. Over .800 OPS in 124 ab's dating back to june 1. Looks so much better.

                  • Talk about bookend performances. Urena and Alcantara looked like the same pitcher in Monday and Wednesday night 7-inning outings. Same pitch count, same velocity and variety, same number of strikes. Can't think of two more similar pitchers.

                    • Brinson has been phenomenal since coming back and he was good the month before he went down

                      • He also had a .526 OPS in the minors between that. (Devil's Advocate)

                        • I really like Brinson. I would love for him to succeed and be a total beast.

But only fish16 would use the word PHENOMENAL in the same sentence as Brinson right now.

He's been phenomenal since he came back up in a very small sample. not really all that controversial of a statement.

                              • Random note, but Rich Waltz was calling the FAU game for CBS Sports (via Facebook Live) over the weekend. It was good to hear his voice, and odd to hear him calling another team/something other than baseball.

I still think it'd be nice to bring him back. He may not want to, though.
