Marlins traded hard in Dec to get him for JT but Washington said NO multiple times

The Nationals refusal of trading Juan Soto & Victor Robles is why JT Realmuto remains a Marlin. Marlins have remained active in trade talks but nothing has been advanced. Now we get to see why the Nats said no on Soto to this point.

Still talking to a few teams about Tazawa. Miami is trying to get a low level prospect for him-they are going to be paying most of his salary for this year so the pitch to teams like Pittsburgh,Seattle,Arizona,Minnesota is get him for a prospect before he gets released and doesn't even consider u. Yes Tazawa has sucked BUT teams have interest in seeing him and if he figures stuff out is ALOT better than what they have. If he gets released then likely to Boston or LA on a minor league deal
Note on JT-Other teams are starting to sniff around like Minnesota and SD. If Washington wants him they are going to have to trade Soto OR Robles-we arent going to settle for what they are offering because all the interest. I actually wouldn't mind a trade with SD they have a GREAT systemLast edited by tjfla; 05-20-2018, 10:21 AM.

Jose Urena getting a shout out in the NY Post from Joel Sherman. The shout out is he could bring the MOST in return for a SP at the deadline
Within the Un-Magnificent Seven, the starter who most intrigues me is Miami’s Jose Urena. He was 0-6 with a 4.38 ERA going into his Saturday start. But he amasses strikeouts and groundballs, and I believe that at 26 Urena would blossom in a better environment — the infield defense of the Angels, for example, would elevate Urena.
Since he is not even arbitration eligible until the coming offseason, he would seem ideal for Miami’s rebuild. Except the Marlins are years away from real contention and need badly to keep stocking a thin system. At a moment when the market projects as thin with starters and teams such as the Yankees, Angels, Brewers and possibly several others almost certainly will be in a buying mode for just that commodity, you can perhaps get $1.50 for a $1.

They are far down the list but the more teams interested the higher the price.

Angels have talked to us about arms alot which is why Sherman mentioned them. Urena/Straily/Ziegler/Tazawa/Bearclaw. Even Chen got a sniff(VERY Doubtful)

Given the guys we've got performing well in AA and AAA, id prefer to move Urena and Straily at the deadline for the best possible returns and just start seeing what we have with some of these starters in Lopez, Richards, Peters, Alcantara, Neidert, Gallen, etc.
I doubt we go full tear down at the deadline like we should though. Ideally we trade Castro, JT, Barraclough, Dietrich, Straily, Urena, Ziegler, and maybe bour.

LAA doesn't have a great system but I would listen if they offered Jahmai Jones OR Brandon Marsh,Jose Suarez,Luis Rengifo and Eduardo Paredes(even tho a bad year so far) in a deal for either of them. They have some interesting prospectsLast edited by tjfla; 05-20-2018, 11:50 AM.
