They lost Castro for the year. They have some interesting prospects-Nick Gordon,ML Ready Arms

The JT market in July is going to be fun to watch-Wash/NYM/Minn/Toronto/Houston all want and need a C
Team should make an offer ASAP. He's going to continue to hit and increase his value. He also improved his defensive skills these last 2 years.

No rush for us-JT's value will only go higher until the Winter Meetings.

They won't get a Vlad Jr,Soto,Robles BUT some team will get desperate and make a crazy offer to us at the Deadline. Question is will Denbo pull the trigger when time comes?

Same goes for Bour and Bearclaw-no rush to trade them but we might get crazy offers for them both. Any AL team would love to have Bour and we have already seen that teams pay for controllable BP arms

        • I’d be down to keep it as well as Bour long term if they would be down to re sign obviously. Jt is obvious, but I think Bour doesn’t have significant trade value for whatever reason and our lineup is really lacking and he is under team control for a little while longer and is a legitimately very good hitter and we have nothing in the way of pure power bats in our system.

            Sure, I agree.

            • Bour shouldn’t be your best hitter, but I think he’s proven throughout his career that when healthy he can be a dynamite second power source in a lineup. The money thing obviously needed to be dealt with but him at the 2nd/3rd power bat along with ozuna behind Stanton was phenomenal

              • Bour's age is what kills him with us. If he was 25/26 I would say resign him or sign him long term but he is 30 next week and Brian Anderson will need a place to play eventually.

                • To me it just depends on what you can get for him, and I obviously have no inside info, but I find it hard to believe that you can get a really good haul for him just because I think his type of player isn’t terribly
Hard to find for AL Teams. I could be wrong though. I’d definitely shop him as the first priority but think signing him a few years through free agency wouldn’t be a terrible move if we don’t get that good offer for him

His value is higher than u think. Even more so with him hitting PH HR's. AL teams love him because he can play 1B/DH and is cheap still. Alot of teams looked at him as a cheaper option to Hosmer/Santana namely Boston

                    • That’s true, I think if we do trade him it needs to be at the deadline, his type of players value goes down during the offseason

                      • You know, maybe I should take back my complaint about the green backstop.....there's no mistaking Marlins park on TV - just have to look at the empty seats behind the netting and you'll know. I realize it's a noon start on a Thursday, but it looks terrible having nobody behind the plate on tv.

Agreed, but just about every stadium is like that too. MLB needs to cut down on the number of games in each season. 162 is way too much to the point where each game feels way too devalued. 135 seems much better to me

This is it. There's a nice article on the Sun-Sentinel website today with comments from Mattingly that sort-of outlines the team's philosophy on how they're handling the young pitchers this year.
