  • Its insane how good this braves team is gonna be. If i didnt think they would be super cautious with their young guys id consider betting them to win the NL east or at the very least a wild card spot this year. This team still has literally almost an entire rotation of top 100 prospects still yet to be in the rotation. When they get some of these contracts off next year and maybe sign a big free agent in the offseason.... look out. Acuna is a superstar and I always thought Albies would be a star as well, but he might be a 5 tool superstar in his own right as well.

Aside from the whole cheating and horrific organizational toxic culture thing with their old GM, they are the model of how to rebuild through the draft/IFA.

Went to their stadium last year too, its really cool too. Horrific to keep giving sports franchises stadium funding as they are horrific investments, but the stadium itself is a good time.

I’d bet JT wants to get the fuck outta Miami as fast as possible. He did something rare for a young player; he went public and said he wanted out. He may be stubborn enough to not take guaranteed money.

      • That’s it, Donnie. Keep batting Brinson 8th. That’s working out great so far.

Hurts that Mark Canha, former Marlin farmhand, would be by far our best producer in the OF.

              • Despite brinson hitting 8th when he should be in Nola, he has been much better lately than he was towards the start of the year so thats nice to see at least. He'll figure it out but wasting a year of service time to hit him 8th is stupid

                • Crazy how good Anderson looks in the OF and how bad Dietrich looks in the OF. Tyler Cloyd: Major League Pitcher is a joke.

                  • In 11 years as a Marlin fan, I don't remember them ever having a really good starter in AAA. Now we have Richards, Meyer and Gallen as excellent starters - I think Peters will be too. Alcantara and Junkel also feel like BP upgrades. Wish we would make room for them.

Wasting our time watching him too. They say he has nothing to prove in AAA. Not true. His only good numbers came in Colorado, where they come with an asterisk. I'm doubtful that he could hit .250 at New Orleans.

                    • I disagree with the notion that because Brinson's great year last year in AAA happened at Colorado Springs that you can just discount it. If having that good of a season was easy why wouldn't every player on Colorado Springs have ungodly numbers? Fact of the matter is over the past 4 years at Colorado Springs no player had as many ABs as Brinson did last year at AAA (299) and had a greater OPS than Brinson put up last year. And in 2016 when he just had a short stint in AAA he had an even better OPS.

                      • Ya he will 100% be a long term starter on the team regardless, it's just maddening that the team is literally picking the worst possible option in not sending him down for a month for the service time but only batting him 8th. It's nonsensical.

Also, give Chen one more time out, but im cool with just letting him be the long man, give Trevor Richards another couple times in the rotation because he has actually earned it for the time being. DFA cloyd alredy. And riddle for Rivera.

Didn't you listen to the podcast from a few days ago? Craig Mish said he was almost positive JT didn't actually ever say that and even suggested he thought it may have come from Yelich's camp.

I've never read a direct quote from Realmuto on the subject.

What JT(or his agent-no one is sure) said was he wasn't going to sign an extension with us and they might wanna think about trading him if they wanna get top value. Wasn't really a request more about them saying he doesn't wanna be here long term

Castro did request a trade but after talking with the FO and them telling him that the plan was to trade him when possible(likely Deadline) he took away the request
