  • FanGraphs has the Marlins bullpen ranked 27th in MLB (behind the Reds and ahead of the Nationals). They’re high on Lake Bachar.

    • I can’t muster even a little excitement for opening day and the season and I know many on here feel the same way. If we feel that way, how do the casual fans feel and how bad is attendance going to get this season. There have been other rebuilds over the years, but the franchise really feels like it’s in the worst place it’s ever been

      • AA team will be the minor league team to track to start the year. Looks like they will have Mack, Serna, Alderman, and Martorella in the lineup and a rotation including White, snelling, Mazur, Fulton, and probably Jacob Miller as well.

        • norby out 4 weeks now. i couldnt even put together a starting lineup for opening day. this lineup was going to be terrible as is and now they are without probably the 2nd and 3rd best bats to start the year. And i cant even put together a rotation after Sandy and Meyer either with Cabrera, Eury, Garrett and Weathers all out. Plus Nardi out in the bullpen. I couldnt name even 4 bullpen arms out there right now.

          • Graham Pauley could be our opening day 3rd baseman. Graham Pauley hit .239 at AA and .224 at AAA last year. He has a .653 OPS this spring.

            Things are bad.

            • I can certainly get excited for Sandy Alcantara vs Paul Skenes. In fact, I’m going to the game with family.

Beyond that, yeah it’s a goat fuck especially with all of these injuries.

fish16 will like this………it looks like ticket sales are so poor for Opening Day that the Marlins are offering a 4 for $44 deal. This is unprecedented for Opening Day.

being realistic doesnt mean i like the franchise being a dumpster fire laughing stock. I've been saying since Arraez was traded that this is what is going to happen. Doesnt mean i wanted to be right. You said i was overreacting when i said it indicated a 3+ year rebuild the second he was traded. I was right. Blowing this team up yet again, for really no reason other than them not wanting to spend money to improve the existing roster, was just about the dumbest thing you could do if you had any read on this market whatsoever. We traded one of the worst owners in sports to the worst owner in sports. This market deserves better, and it deserves a chance to succeed. It has never been close to getting a chance to succed.

You can argue whether arraez is overvalued, undervalued, whether we got a good return for him, etc. You cannot argue what that trade signified in terms of the direction they clearly showed they were about to go, and what that meant for the organization and the fanbase.

Either way, it looks like Pauley will make the team.

Considering the situation Javier Sanoja should just play every day at a different position every day. Fully expecting him to make the team and then rot on the bench.

Don’t put words in my mouth. All I said was that trading Arraez was trading a guy who’s a great contact hitter but an absolute zero in every other facet of the game. And I’m not getting into another fucking Arraez pudding contest.

I'm not patting myself on the back, i'm showing you that my negativity is just reality, not me being overly negative. This franchise has nothing to look forward to, so when you tell me to go follow the angels because im not fucking glowing about this shit organization, it's the organization, not me being a bad fan.

you're actually right about arraez though, my bad, im conflating you with Lou who said it was totally realistic that we get 6 bats for Luzardo and Scott. Looking back at lou's posts after the trade is actually pretty laughable.

This is a doozy- "I think it is very realistic for this team to acquire 6 bats trading Jesus Luzardo, Tanner Scott, whatever other spare parts they have, and spending $50 million (2023 payroll estimate). Easily can fit in Adames, Jansen, and a $10m bat with that amount."

And dont even get me started on the ridiculous bullpen write up he had at the beginning of this offseason talking about all these different guys and their potential and the majority of them are either in japan or the minors.
