Can’t blame Skip for all of the losses but not give him credit for the wins.

i dont blame him for all the losses, i blame him for actively putting the team in a worse position to win games when he actively puts the team in worse positions to lose games or when he gives up on games for no reason down the stretch in a playoff race. His bullpen management has been nonsensical at times in the second half.

Example of lame coaching from last night or the night before: Bell gets on base to start a late inning. AFTER the next hitter grounds out and Bell moves to second, he pinch runs Edwards for Bell. Someone explain that. Wouldn't you sub Edwards when Bell reached first? He's in position to steal a base or score on a double. Made zero sense to me.

im fine with that. You dont want to take bell out for a pinch runner when you need more than a single to score because his bat is too important in the lineup late in games. Once he got to second the chances of them scoring on a single were a lot higher, the chances of needing him later in the game go down and the chances and importance of scoring that run from second are a lot higher. We're not exactly the kings of manufacturing runs per your own analysis, so taking bell out in a tie game when he is only on first and his spot in the lineup might come up again isnt a brilliant move.

The Phillies lost a BACK BREAKER today. We are 4 games out of the 1st WC in the loss column. It’s a lot but not impossible

good news, but i kind of hope we stay in the 3rd spot. It's highly unlikely we make up 4 games on them in the next few weeks, plus the winner of the series between the first and second wild card winners gets the braves in the division series. We would still get the Dodgers, but we were competitive against the dodgers both series, and their pitching is really falling apart now with Buehler not coming back this year and Urias being a piece of shit. It wouldnt guarantee us a home playoff game, but i like our matchup against the brewers given that their offense isnt anything special and then hopefully we can get lucky against the dodgers and hope someone knocks off the braves. 3rd spot would be ideal for me just because i find it very unlikely given our schedule and the cubs schedule that we find a way to get the first wild card.

On matchups. The only Marlin with more than a couple at bats vs. Woodruff is Bell. He's 3-25 off him (.120) and batting second as if that information wasn't available.. Should have gotten the night off.
