You don’t get to 14 over with a highly positive run differential against every team other than the braves by July and have it be a fluke. They completely fucked up the vibe of this team by sending down eury. Then starting okert 3 games out of the all start break. They had 0 fucking plan whatsoever other than save Bruce money. They deserve to have the season fall apart for that move. Saving our dipshit owner money years from now taking priority over actually winning this year. This is a minor league franchise for that move

Ya, when the kid who showed no signs of fatigue before being sent down to do nothing for a month starts now showing rust in the 3rd and 4th inning of not only his two minor League starts and now his first start back in the big leagues, the team could not have fucked up the plan for him more. Same thing has happened in each of his two rehab starts as well as tonight. He sat around not doing jack shit for a month when he was showing no signs of fatigue. Every aspect of this eury move was completely messed up and done without a coherent plan

Thinking that the pitching staff fell apart because Eury was sent down is silly lol. Eury was replaced mainly by Cueto, who you’ve admitted has surprisingly been fine.

Is the team also hitting .100 with RISP over the past week because we sent down Eury?

I didn’t think they’d fall apart so quickly, but I guess I forgot I’m a Marlins fan. We should be used to it.

At the end of the day, it’s basically the same team as last year except we now have Arraez who wasn’t going to hit .400 all year. This offense still stinks.

The bullpen completely fell apart when the guy who was going 6 or 7 every outing was replaced by a bullpen game the third game out of the all star break. They had 0 plan for sending eury down or replacing him. It’s not a coincidence the bullpen has completely fallen apart after that move. There was no need to send him down based on a made up innings limit.

the offense has been terrible also. They sent down their best pitcher for no reason. They both have made a big impact

          • We can’t hit this Williamson guy because we sent Eury Perez down and the team is still depressed about it.

Even though Eury is actually back on the team and pitching tonight, the team of grown men is still depressed.

Yep. They were overachieving for sure with the 1 run games, but this nose diving is something else at the same time.

Get ready for the we won 12 more games that last year or whatever BS and they frame it as a success.

              • This team is such a fucking embarrassment in every area right now. Just an absolute dumpster fire.

It’s not just the clubhouse. They had a star pitcher throwing 7 of 8 games with 1 earned run or less. Even with a ton of bad offensive performances, you stay in games a lot more when that is 20% of your game as opposed to the Cabrera and cueto spots in the rotation. Cueto has been solid enough for what was expected, he hasn’t been eury. Cabrera couldn’t throw strikes. If you dont think that having 20% of your games essentially getting dominant starting pitching makes a difference you’re an idiot. And that was on top of Garrett and luzardo and sandy. So you were getting really quality outings 60-80% of the time. Even with a bad lineup you can compete with that. When you add cueto and Cabrera and take out the best pitcher in the nl for a two month stretch, ya that mediocre offense is going to have a lot of pressure on it. Especially when you foolishly mix in multiple bullpen games and deplete your tired ass bullpen even more

he was one of the best starting pitchers for two full months, if you don’t think replacing that with mediocrity for no reason other than to save the owner money has a cumulative effect on the rest of the team in the field and in the clubhouse , I don’t know what to tell you

Their schedule in May and June was HIGHLY beneficial as discussed all summer. You can't cherry pick getting demolished by one of the few good teams they played for literally months and only count the run differential when you played one of the easiest schedules in baseball. It was who they were - a negative run differential team that had an unbelievable string of 1 run luck propping up their record. Eury had no impact on this. It's still painfully the right decision which you'll probably appreciate down the road.

I would say if you want to go after the front office, it's the rinse/repeat why didn't they sign a SS? Why didn't they get a second bat upgrade literally anywhere else? Why did they wait till the end of July to make any moves when it was clearly obvious for months they needed a lot? Where is Edwards which I could understand longer than most here about keeping down, but I'm not sure how the hell you can keep him down for a few weeks now so where the hell is he?

In any event, this is sad but at least only Robertson is a rental. The team will be strong on paper next year provided they do upgrade C and SS

                    • This was a 78 win team when we started the season. It’ll be a 78 win team when we end it. Just got there in a heartbreaking way.

                      • It is completely absurd that Joey wendle and avisail Garcia are starting against a lefty let alone on the roster at all while Xavier Edwards has been hitting over .400 for 2 full months in aaa

I'll take the over. The universe wants to give them a 10+ win press release and they'll probably collectively go on a September bender once they hit the shitty part of the schedule again. 6 mets, 3 pirates, and 7 nationals games. DLC will do something against September pitching just to infuriate fish16

                          • Joey Wendle should be hitting the ball a little bit better tonight considering that team MVP Eury Perez is back on it.

Everyone should be pumped right now, Eury’s back.

1 player makes all the difference in baseball, this is why the Angels always make the playoffs with Ohtani and Trout.

Yes on Joey. They should DFA him and Yuli tomorrow and call up Edwards and Dane and pray. I'm fine with DFA'ing Garcia also and calling up Amaya/Johnston too, and then the other when rosters expand in September. The season is about over with what is happening, so let it rip and pray for instant offense from the kids. It can't be worse.

That's 2 players Erick, don't set unreasonable expectations for Eury
