Rogers is terrible. Salvage this game and get the bullpen in there

He’s thrown 6 innings once all year and that was against the nationals in April. He has a 5.5+ era, 1.6 whip, and just 10 less walks than all of last year in 60 fewer innings. He has promise, but he’s been absolutely terrible from his first start.

He gave up 2 runs and had an error against one of the worst teams in the league and had to throw 27 pitches to get out of it. He looks terrible tonight

Against the team playing without its two best hitters who on the season even with them has 28th OPS as a team, 27th in Slugging percentage, 28th in OBP, 29th in AVG, 3rd most k's in the league,

this front office cant sit there with a straight face and say they are trying to win while still running Rogers ass out there every 5th day, haven't made a single acquisition to fix a bullpen that's been a clear problem since opening day, and is still sitting with Meyer wasting away in AAA for no reason. this team doesn't care about winning, no matter what else they say.

soler starting a rehab assignment tomorrow in AA so maybe we see him for the weekend. Luzardo and Cabrera throwing each throwing live BP in jupiter today and tomorrow. poteet back in AAA on a rehab outing tomorrow and Louis head is throwing 2 IP in a rehab tomorrow as well.

stallings coming into today has a wrc+ of 44 AND graded out negatively defensively. why the fuck is this guy still on the team?

Here’s what Trevor did in the 1st inning that caused your tantrum:

-gave up a ground ball that found its way between 2 infielders.

-gave up an even softer ground ball that should have been an out

-gave up a broken bat pop fly

Trevor’s only legitimate sin tonight was allowing that same bat to even make contact with the ball on the 0-2 count that scored the Pirates first 2 runs.

He ended up going 5 1/3 and giving up 2 earned runs. Not stellar but any means but not worthy of your predictable overreaction.

Trevor Rogers not making it through 6 even against this horrible Pirates lineup or the Marlins lineup making Mitch Keller look like Sandy Alcantara.

In other words, he labored through one of the worst lineups in baseball to the tune of 27 pitches and 2 earned runs, 2 hits, should have had an error attributed to him and lost the game before we got a chance to bat. I don’t care about luck, when you’re terrible all year and lose the ability to put hitters away, you get unlucky. He’s been terrible all year and he was terrible tonight. He wheezed through 5.1 innings against one of the worst lineups you’ll see in baseball all year that the pirates threw out there. It’s even worse than ours tonight, and he was terrible. Just 13/24 first pitches for strikes, and had 9 combined hits and walks against a truly putrid lineup in just 5.1. If you think that outing was anything encouraging that’s scary

This lineup is almost as pathetic as the lineup Rogers struggled with tonight
