        • If we can’t close this out we don’t deserve to be even thinking about a playoff spot. At a certain point your bullpen needs to pull its own weight. Also, stop waiting till the damn deadline to address the pen. Go out and find a controllable closer and help the back end of this bullpen out

          • If Scott is the best we have right now as a closing option, they need to go out and get someone immediately. Scott sucks. Relievers who have no idea how to control the baseball are terrible

                  • Scott is awful. He’s been awful almost his entire career. At no point has he shown any ability to control the baseball. He cannot be anywhere near a high leverage situation. This is pathetic

                        • Will be 3 games out after tonight. The next 5 are enormous. If we can finish the week at .500 after 4 against the Mets and tomorrow vs ohtani, they are in great position to get to 5-10 over by the deadline if they take care of business against teams they should beat

                          • Tanner Scott got very lucky that neither of the live drives that he gave up found the turf. That would have been a brutal loss after we totally outplayed them for 8 innings. I wouldn’t want Scott closing a playoff game but he’s not as bad as fish16 makes it sound (a 3.02 xFIP is definitely not awful).

I was at the ballpark. It was a very pro-Marlins crowd which felt great. If you’ve never eaten at The Change Up, you’re missing out on some great varieties of food.

We are suddenly running very good in 1 run games. Regression before the deadline was a nice bonus.

Adding before the deadline like fish16 is a great idea.

what’s the Christmas in July list look like for relievers?

Sucks is a bit strong but he's a mediocre reliever who walks a lot of guys. I cant stand relievers, especially those being asked to pitch in high leverage situations, who are all "stuff" with no control. Thats not a valuable skill set to me for a guy with no starting potential. Maybe it's unfair that he's being forced into a closers role instead of a long or middle relief role, but as a closer that's a terrible option. Walking guys out of the bullpen creates a recipe for disaster.

                              • Not about the marlins, but how in the world can the angels never build a winning team around the greatest player in a generation and now a 2nd generational talent? It's not like they don't spend either, they have consistently spent on huge contracts and still suck year after year. They haven't won a single playoff game in Trout's career and have only even made the playoffs once.
