just from the way this new regime has operated, they have generally waited until after the draft comes to make most promotions. Plus AA theoretically doesn't have a current spot open with bleday, burdick, and Encarnacion but Jerar went on the IL 10 days ago. Id have to imagine its any day now.

that was a pleasant surprise to wake up to. This division is really bad and if our offense was only inconsistent instead of ridiculously inconsistent we might still be in it. The mets are always gonna mets and now it seems degrom might be hurt, braves injuries ruined their year, Phillies have been unreasonably confident in their pitching for years now, and the nationals will likely be blowing it up in the next couple of weeks with scherzer a free agent at the end of the year (side note his deal with the nats might be the best of those 7+ year mega free agent deals that have become more commonplace the last 25 years. hope he signs with an AL team and gets out of my life) .

Unfortunately looks like we will be talking about a lot of what ifs again at the end of the year.

pitching matchups definitely dont favor this but if all goes perfectly for the team today we can climb to just 6.5 back of the mets. Cant help but wonder where they would have to be to not sell at the deadline or if there even is a realistic place that they can get to within just 12 days that would make them change course.

reports are that braxton garrett got the call for the start today to replace pablo. dont think that's gonna go well in that ballpark in a matchup against wheeler. He was averaging 89.8 with the fastball last year and is up to 90.9 in his outings this year, but that's still not going to cut it since his offspeed stuff doesnt look nearly as impressive as it was touted when he was drafted. he's had 2 really solid outings in AAA though so hopefully we can steal a game and get lucky.

Marlins said willing to consider anything that makes their club better (meaning no untouchables), though rivals see Sandy Alcantara and especially Trevor Rogers as not especially likely to be dealt. In any case, Fish are expected to be very active!
