FIFY. There’s a pretty big difference between what Lee was "joking" about and your own personal anecdote.

I don't presume to know if Bauer is guilty or not guilty. But, to me, it's pretty gross to joke about something so serious if there's even a TINY chance what she claims is true.

I won't belabor the point. I'll go back to lurking now.

    • 2 things can be true, it could have been consensual to a point but also assault if it exceeds the scope of consent. someone might consent to choking but would have a valid claim for sexual assault if she is then punched in the face by a crazy person. but by definition someone cant consent to assault as assault by definition involves the unwanted touching by another. what I'm assuming happened is some physicality was consented to, he exceeded what she wanted, and is now pressing charges. Which will boil down to a he said/she said regarding what was consented to and what really happened and then the charges will be dropped or there will be some sort of out of court settlement. there is your lawyer lesson for the day.

The Athletic had a pretty detailed article about what's been reported so far - apparently she had 2 black eyes, bruises, potential skull fracture, and she went unconscious a few times, during which he apparently did anal which she reportedly never agreed to. Those actions are obviously well beyond consensual if true.

He could be done with baseball depending on the outcome of this.

From what I understand he sodomized her while she was unconscious, and she woke up during the act, which she had not consented to do. Not sure if true, but that's what was reported by at least 1 media outlet yesterday

            • It's interesting, but not unbelievable, that MLB.com hasn't had anything to say about Bauer, and it seems to be really hushed on most media outlets. That seems to say there must be legs to the story, they want as little attention to it as possible
