They got the win & are off the schneid...losing streak finally over. Did anyone see Meyer's highlights from Saturday night...9k's and 1 ER in 6.0 innings...lowers ERA.

Like Magneuris Sierra has been terrible, but if he were in that Brewers trade he would be the best player we got back.

Kim Ng has been exposed these past couple of weeks. I’m not sure why the plan today was Thompson/Castano. Castano didn’t pitch because he felt something in his shoulder pregame, but the reality is he shouldn’t pitch in the big leagues at all anymore.
This front office doesn’t care. Mattingly is far from perfect but he’s also a scapegoat in the situation; the front office has left the team short handed for far too many games this season.
Considering our pitching depth in the minors, it’s laughable that Thompson/Castano was the idea for today at Fenway.

100% agree with this line of thinking. One would think the success last season would've caused them to responsibly accelerate the timeline with some targeted advantageous signings. Some bigger/better bullpen names, and JT would've been the prize. Though I suppose it's possible there'd have been a "Marlins tax" on top of contract offers to get guys to sign here? (i.e. a player would want more from Miami vs. other teams?)
They didn't do that.....ok, maybe last year's financial hit was fairly significant to this team?
As we try to look past that, then you figure, ok, maybe they'll be willing to bring people up to reinforce the team since the signings were low. Or quickly call up people in injuries?
NOPE - guy hits .400 for a month in AAA when the ML team can't hit its way out of a wet paper bag after injuries, and we just leave him there. Even if service time is the consideration there (I did some rough calculations that seemed like we may be close to the cutoff date for him to appear with the extra control intact), the lack of urgency, the lack of anything - has been inexplicable.
